Re: 59 Chevy Build
Haven't been getting a lot done lately. been waiting on parts. Here is a couple of pics of what came today..........It is an HT-502.........512 ft lbs of torque at 2800 rpm. I figure that will serve the purpose of what this truck is intended for.............

Re: 59 Chevy Build
Well I reached another milestone today........I decided to go with a power brake system mounted on the firewall. I did this because I plan on using this as a daily driver. I figured it would be easier for serviceability.........

Re: 59 Chevy Build
Well I did get some things done today. It is just difficult to try and get much done after you have been at work all day...............anyway the column is set in place so I can order my intermediate shaft. I had my son going around to junk yards today looking for a 9" rear. Anyone got one they wanna let go of??........we found several but I am looking for one that is 54"-56" backplate to backplate................let me know if you come across one.

Re: 59 Chevy Build
Looking good! great choice for the motor. What tranny did you go with? 4L60? 4L80 to handle all that torque?
Love the feather. Steve |

Re: 59 Chevy Build
Well it might not look like I got much done today, however, I cut the motor loose and moved it forward about 3/4", then I found a ford 9" that was out of a coil spring car and had about 200 brackets that had to be cut off and ground down. Anyway I roughed in the rear with the triangulated 4 link and tomorrow I will remove the rear and finish welding the new brackets on. Once I remove the bed I will box the aft frame..............

Re: 59 Chevy Build
Well it seems that progress has slowed to a crawl..........man waiting on parts really drags on. Anyway since I have had the time I welded all those unwanted factory holes closed on the firewall, put the sound barrier on the cab floor and started to fit the air ride to the rear diff.......

Re: 59 Chevy Build
Man you're moving right along on the build...
You might want to look into changing the mount for the shock waves. Those rivets might not want to support the truck. Most of the kits have an upgraded cross member. Brian ...

Re: 59 Chevy Build
Got to love it when Santa comes to visit in the summer ..........anyway I got my back roll pan, front sun visor, and the March Performance serpentine system today and set them in place for fitting..............I told my wife that "this truck won't have as much bling as the other one", not sure she believes me any more....
