I'm going to gess it wad a chevy thing and not a gmc thing. My 71 gmc does not have it. Then again it has bean repainted. But I don't see any gmc example eather.

I've never heard of or seen this before. I am guessing that the decal was on the tailgate to alert people behind you that the truck might stop much suddenly than their old drums can.

Your truck is a Cheyenne Super with no Super emblem on the glovebox door, and no holes to put it on! Joe sent me the pics. Very odd day at the plant when your truck was made I guess!

They gave killer’s longhorn a extra sticker to compensate for the lack of a glove box emblem

If they could read it, they were already way too close.. Ha. No, it was to announce the first year of disk brakes on the full size pickups, nothing more, a bit of free advertising for the General. It was 71 only, disappeared on 72 models (though they are often seen on 72s at Barrett Jackson for some strange reason )
