Great looking truck. You do good work. Now I just have one question? How did you and the Mrs.find time to get preggers with you thrashing on the truck that much?

Thumbs up !! Nice truck !! It takes a lot of work but the comments you'll get when driving it around are something you would never get when driving any new vehicle.

Yea, I bought an Iwata paint gun and went at it. And if you are like me it turns out marginally ok out of the gun, but then you cut and buff it for a week or so and it can be fairly flat and shiny. I read a quote before that said "buffers win car shows not painters", I now understand that comment.

Thanks, the bodywork and paint took many many more hours than it would have an experienced guy, but I just kept working on it until I thought I couldn't make any further improvements.

How do we get preggers when I am in the garage? IIRC, I think she made me come inside one night to shower and then proceeded to take advantage of me... .

So true. Its fun to turn a few heads... The other side of that equation though; the second time I drove it, one of the cities finest turned right around to follow me back through town, didn't pull me over but probably checked that I was registered and insured, good thing I was. I haven't had a speeding ticket for at least 15 years, hopefully I can keep that streak going .

The rear end is from a 72 Bronco. I have a friend who is into the off roading scene and he had it in his collection of parts. The rear end width worked out perfectly to run the least amount of back space with 20x10 TTs, which is 3" on a reversed rim.

Thanks N2TRUX , the tires sizes are 315/35/20 and on the front 255/45/18s, Toyo Proxes STs.

I took a friend for a ride yesterday and I told him I thought the truck rode a little rough due to the short sidewall tires. But he said that the ride quality was super plush for a swb single cab pickup. I have never driven a shorty with coils so I have no reference [my truck was LWB in its previous life].

Its totally a twin of yours, even the same color! I figured it was ok because we aren't neighbors . Heck when I needed inspiration I just revisited the pictures of yours that I have saved for motivation. Also I took a few clues from these...

Re: Restortation Complete - 67 Shorty 2wd

BigSky, you did a tremendous job on the truck! You should be extremely proud of yourself, especially in tackling the paint on your own. It came out beautiful. I also 2nd Longhorn's comment about doing something nice for your lady. Sounds like she's a keeper for sure. I know when I get my truck done I'll be taking the wifey out to the best restaurant in town in it to thank her for her patience.

Well I went to the 9" because of its overall width of 58" vs. 64" or so for the stock rear-end. It was all about stuffing more wheel with less back spacing under there. I did buy new axles so I could have 5 on 5 bolt pattern though. I didn't "need" a 9", it was just what was readily available to me.

FF, I know the kind of work you do, so I thank you very much for the compliment.

I have almost the same truck, but Black. What size tires and wheels do you have. I have a ford 9" also and tubbed the rear. I like your tire/wheel combo.

Those rears are 20x10 with 3" backspacing, tires are 315/35/20 Toyo Proxes STs.

I have shown the truck to a few people, some who aren't gearheads, and the most common comment is the size of the rear tire and the big lip.
