Re: Decisions, decisions, decisions........68 truck

Well this thread has just proven something. A hybrid truck is not as desirable as stock. Once we found out it had a 73 undercarrige it was the parting of the red sea. I too have changed my mind. This would make a fine donor truck.

I just saw this and am surprised no one noticed it`s a 2wd serial number.None of the swapping matters if it`s fixed up nice.

That's the first white 68 truck I've seen with a stock silver painted base grill. It looks sharp.

Man I need a white stock-painted hood to replace the one on my truck that got hailed on a few years ago. Too bad you are so far away.

Looks like I'm going to part it. I am going to try to sell the cab and clip together. If that doesn't work then I might part.

Are they all rusty? I've heard salt water air is killer on cars....

I guess the ocean currents travel far from the gulf, huh?

If you can, float a 67 swb 4x4 my way, OK?

(I can't pay you for it, of course, it would have to be a freebie )

Re: Decisions, decisions, decisions........68 truck

I posted a similar thread on whether to part or not on here a day or two ago --- except for 3 or 4 --- advised me to drive it and love it --- my truck is in a completely different ballpark as yours is - condition wise its a rust bucket. but its a factory short step.

I would still drive that truck - (actually i would mount some paddles on the back and use it as a sand dune truck) -- but you might be like me and already have a few drivers as it is

Drive it and close your eyes when you look at the frame - try not to think about the '73 part of it

Re: Decisions, decisions, decisions........68 truck

looks very much like what i bought. i say buy it and build it, even if just for a parts runner. you know how easy it is to drop a GenIII/4l60E into one of these things; you could probably flip it and double your money if you get sick of using it as a parts getter.

if it's less than 3-4k i'd buy it.
