Re: Stepside or fleetside????

As much as I love my short stepper, I too would prefer a short fleet, BUT I could never convert my truck to one, I'd have to buy another one for that

I like fleetsides and I really like OTSENRE's idea to keep both and switch them over from time to time.

Re: Stepside or fleetside????

Both of my trucks have fleetside beds. I also like the look of the steppers. I also couldn't tell you how many times I have seen stepside trucks at shows where some idiot has propped his feet up on the step and scuffed the paint. That's enough to make me stay away from a stepper. Not to mention the backspace is a little tighter when running wide wheels on a stepper. I guess I would decide which bed would take the least amount of work to make right and run with it!

Re: Stepside or fleetside????

I prefer the fleets, but if the bed can be bought at the right price, I sure wouldn't pass it up no matter what you want to do with your truck!

Re: Stepside or fleetside????

Long beds have to be fleets (for me) but short beds are hard for me to decide. Depends on what day it is I guess. When I had my short bed, I had both styles & swapped back and forth until I decided.

Sold the whole deal & got a long fleet.

Re: Stepside or fleetside????

As said earlier it's personal preference. There were more fleets made so more members own fleets so there will be more people say fleetside. Since fewer steps were made there are alot fewer of them around. When I looked to buy my truck I decided to look for a stepside cause the whole point was to drive something different than what evrybody else had. People will see one our trucks in a fleetside and say "I've seen one of those before" but when they see a stepside thay are more likely to say "I've never seen one before". Its just a matter of how different you want it to look. They all look great though.

Re: Stepside or fleetside????

I have had both the fleetside and the short stepside, But I love my stepside!!! I have had 80 year old men and women walk up to my truck
at the grocery store and just start asking questions about my truck. You have got to love that!!!!

I think your truck looks great as a stepside. Seems like everybody has a fleetside shortie. MY VOTE IS FOR THE STEPSIDE!
