Contacting the State Attorney Generals Office for fraud gets more results than the BBB...

Re: Price quote on Sandblasting your frame???

Did you see you frame at his place last night? I'd drop by this morning, unexpectedly. If it's not done take it, if it's done pay it and do as planned. I would not give him all day to do a 2 hour job.
Plus he's mad, doesn't want to do you frame, not getting paid what he wants, told you to be at his shop at 5:00, then surprisingly gone...
I'd be surprised if this in the end of this deal.
Plus maybe this morning he won't be drunk yet...

Re: Price quote on Sandblasting your frame???

I did not see the frame...it was locked up at his blasting shop...he was at the other Paint supplies shop. I can only go over there when Mike my friend can and is willing to drive with his trailer to go get it, so I am kind of strapped there.

Call the local news and see if they're interested in the story. They LOVE those "investigative reporting" and "protecting the little guy" type stories. Especially if they can make someone look like an A-Hole

Re: Price quote on Sandblasting your frame???

HE IS LYING TO YOU!!!!!!!!!!!

Blasting that frame will take no longer than 1 hour with the equipment he has.

Since you are going to pay him the $350.00 anyway this is one thing you could do. Take the $200.00 that he is trying to steal from you and give it to an attorney, have him make "the phone call" so the guy can be reminded of how much MONEY he will lose if he pushes it. I bet the attorney hangs up and tells you the guy said " Tell him to bring the ****ing $150.00!" Yeah you will have to pay an attorney to make a phone call, but you wont give the asshole the satisfaction of putting the money in his pocket either !

No seriously, I would keep the $200.00 and do what Frizzle Fry suggested, put his face on tv so everyone will know he is a freakin lying, low class, swindler. You will get your frame back, for the $150.00 you were quoted in the first place. See, the thing is, he sees you as a polite and easy going VICTIM, turn it around and let him know your not!!

Re: Price quote on Sandblasting your frame???

I care for all you guys advice and concern. The guy is a certfied crook that does not back up what his employees say and quote. I have to weigh out how much stress and inconvience this causes me. Getting ripped off is not my bag...but sometimes it's best to cut, run, and tell the world of this guys poor business practice. Like I said if I was 25 years old I would have pulled him over the counter and settled right there. I am thinking of paying with a CC and disputing the charges.

Oh....I am 49 now...and currently serving a suspention from my hockey team for.....FIGHTING. LOL!

Re: Price quote on Sandblasting your frame???

You got a tough situation there.
I would inspect the frame very carefully, before you pay him.
Make sure it's sand blasted to your liking top and bottom. I would make sure there is no damage to it. Bent in any way, front horns for sure.
You may have to pay what he wants to get it back.
But paybacks are H8LL.
GOOD LUCK.

I would write a check if he takes them and get my frame. I would go to the bank and do a stop payment on the check and them mail him one for the $150.00 what a D*ck head, I would be in jail or the hospital if he tried that on me.

Re: Price quote on Sandblasting your frame???

I would be a total nit picking ***hole now! I would make him redo it if I found the tiniest of flaws. For that kind of money it had better be what is called "white metal" blast with a written warranty that there will be ZERO warping of the frame and epoxy primed. Get right up on it just an inch away and if you see one little brown dot make the ***hole blast it again. Then let him know that since he did the job that you will take it to a certified frame shop before you pay, and it had better not be warped any or he will have to buy you a new frame and blast that one. At this point I would be his worst nightmare of a customer just to make his life miserable. Then I would let him know that I will let every person that will listen know just how much of a incompetent, lowlife, lying, scam artist he really is. Then report him to the right people that can take action against him to get your money back.

MAKE HIM WISH HE HAD NEVER MET YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Price quote on Sandblasting your frame???

Someplace you might want to look at for blasting is a Memorial marker shop (the guys that do headstones), I took a whole bedful of stuff to one this summer, a week later I picked it up, $130. Suspension parts, seat frames, buddy bucket frames and seats, bumpers, wheel wells, door panels, rad support, and lots of misc little stuff! Most of it was media blasted so no warpage.

I agree getting physical is not the answer I just got off a 3 year probation for fighting, trust me the ten minutes of satisfaction you get from kicking the guys a$$ is totally not worth 3 years of probation and having to sell all your guns and have a weapon restriction for 5 years, so stay out of trouble and deal with this guy in the right way don't hurt yourself in the process, make a fool of this guy

Re: Price quote on Sandblasting your frame???

Keep us posted about this PLEASE. I sure as hell don't want to find this guy to do my frame.

Something else you can do is if you do pay him the 350.00 take him to small claims court and let the judge settle it. It's pretty obvious he's not gonna give you your frame for less than he thinks he should. For that matter I would include the original 150.00 in the case. Never know the judge may award you the full amount back because this guy is such a sleeze. Either way the judge decides, Wayne gets to spend his 150.00 an hour day in a court room instead of his shop working. 150.00 x 8 hours=1200.00 hope he enjoyed the 200.00 he scammed from you!

In small claims court you don't need an attorney, although it is advised you have one, but most people represent themselves and their case to the judge. If he doesn't show it's an default judgement!

Re: Price quote on Sandblasting your frame???

Yesterday I waited for a call from the sandblasters, and at 2 pm I decided to call myself. The girl that answered was far from professional and said she would have to call me back to tell me if it was done. 10 min later, phone rings she says their compressor is down and that it won't be done until tomorrow...which is today now. I didn't go charging down there to get it, but I will get it from them today whether it's done or not.

Re: Price quote on Sandblasting your frame???

I bet the compressor part is $350.00!

If he still hasnt started it , I would go get it before he starts, it should be easy to find another blaster that will charge you correctly and talk to you like a person. I have a feeling your not going to be happy with the work they do.

I do wish you luck with whatever you decide to do.
