Re: Why is there a clutch pedal in my truck?
Lets look abit closer! Alright is there a metal stick or shaft with a knob on it coming out of the floor near the center or closer to the steering wheel? Does the car take off by itself when you start it? If you have said yes to these queations the truck is a stick or manuel transmission truck!

Re: Why is there a clutch pedal in my truck?
Ok, so was this peddle pushed to the floor (under floor mat) or was it a very obvious (can't believe you didn't notice it before while sitting in the drivers seat, could of pushed it in at anytime while driving) peddle hanging there, or is it a clutch peddle cut off at some point between the peddle pad and the pivot point? I'm not following the visual here.
Feel feel to PM me your response... I'm using a clutch pedal assy in my auto truck I'm building, so my plan it to either find a space from an Auto truck or cut off the clutch pedal arm up close to the pivot point.

Re: Why is there a clutch pedal in my truck?
LOL! Dude, you should have known better than to expect a serious answer to a question like that. IF you're not dreaming, and you have taken that second look to make sure it wasn't a gremlin's leg hanging outta the dash, then I'm with a previous poster who suggested that BEER may have somehow been responsible for the extra parts.

But I put a B&M shifter with a manual shift boot to cover it up. I laugh my ass off when people think the broke the clutch and can't get the shifter in 'first' This thread rocks |M|

Re: Why is there a clutch pedal in my truck?
How do we know this is actually a clutch pedal? If it's in an automatic truck then it's just a pedal, not a clutch pedal.
Could be a very RARE option.

Re: Why is there a clutch pedal in my truck?
When I switched cabs the new cab had a clutch pedal in it. I thought of leaving it there, but it was easy enough to remove, just remove the bolt on one side and the pedal and shaft slides out the other! Maybe you should leave it there as a joke!

Re: Why is there a clutch pedal in my truck?
Anything can happen over the years. I had a 70 monte carlo a long time ago & I was going to install a 4 speed in but only got as far as installing the pedals while I hunted the other parts needed. Along came a fella that wanted it worse than I did. Sold it to him & now your story reminded me of that car. Maybe someone was going to install a manual trans or did install a manual trans for a while & you ended up with it. I wouldnt worry about it & if it gets to you, just take the pedal out & install a spacer...

Re: Why is there a clutch pedal in my truck?
this reminds me of when I swapped in a TH350 into mine. I never got around to crawling under the dash to remove the thing at all. I covered the hole in the floor and swapped in an auto column from a later truck. then a few months later i took it in to get new exhaust run. the guy called me later asking "how the *&^% do I start the thing and where is reverse?" he got confused by the column mounted lock cylinder and the clutch pedal. LOL

Re: Why is there a clutch pedal in my truck?
I had a Bronco that was reversed. Originally an auto and somebody swapped in a 4 spd leaving the auto column. I freaked a buddy out one night, driving in 4th gear, yanked the column shifter into low and floored it. Told him I needed more passing gear. LOL Should of seen the look on his face...

I helped my neighbor put a Saginaw 4spd in his`68 a couple weeks ago.I see he`s been driving it around. Now this guy parts trucks out all the time.He tears them down all the way.I stopped by yesterday, but he wasn`t there.I looked in his`68 to see how the shifter worked out.He still has the 3spd shifter in the column.I`m sure he knows how to pop the pin out by now.
