Re: Ochre? Keep or re-paint????
I'd keep it if you like it. I have always wanted a Ochre Suburban. Some people say they look they look like short buses, but some may say I belong on a short bus, so maybe that's my attraction with them!

Re: Ochre? Keep or re-paint????
When it gets worn and faded ochre looks bad, but when it is deep and shiny it looks great. The guy who bought my hardtop laughed over the phone when I told him what color my Blazer was but when he saw it, he liked it.
My pardner wanted to paint it aqua when we first bought it in '99 but now she doesn't want it any other color but... OCHRE!

ochre with white on the roof or below the trim line would look great, go for it...

Re: Ochre? Keep or re-paint????
Only you can decide what color you want. I knew from day one when I got one of these trucks I had to be a med - darker blue color from a newer model. This truck will be blue, but now I would kinda like to do a Copper Color one or a Black one with red interior.
I guess Orche is ok with the white stripe down the side, but not my favorite. Bottom line is your are building the truck for YOU.

Re: Ochre? Keep or re-paint????
Give it the 68 Anniverrsary white and ocre ---as that is really cool. Keeping it the stock color makes the paint job a lot easier--jams, firewall, inner cab areas, etc.

Gotta love that Ochre. When I bought mine a couple years ago, my wife said that was the ugliest color she had ever seen.

Re: Ochre? Keep or re-paint????
Thanks. I wasn't crazy about it when I bought but it's really grown on me now. It's one of those colors that you either love it or hate it.

By the time I get home, it will need to be redone. You might have it in your shop putting yours and your Dads magic touch on it.

Tx Firefighter...If thats the case, know wher I might find one? LOL
Maybe Chevy should come back out with the color and have you be there spokesperson, kind of like that Bob guy on the commercial with the weird grin. They might sale more trucks, but the ladies would be the ones buying them for us.....LOL Last edited by 1972Ryan; 12-14-2007 at 05:48 AM. |

Re: Ochre? Keep or re-paint????
One of the things I like about these trucks is the fact that they come in colors you don't see anymore. Mine is copper mist or something like that, I'm gonna keep it that way!
