Re: Silverado Kick Panel Speaker pods coming soon
Hey Chris,
How do you secure them to the stock panel and keep them from falling out once the weight of a speaker is on it? And what's the price gonna be for a pair or each? Tnkx. Bruce. |

Re: Silverado Kick Panel Speaker pods coming soon
They will be secured with dual lock fasteners like the original versions. They will be about $70 + shipping for the next 2 weeks when the $4 gas price forces it up to $89 + shipping.

Re: Silverado Kick Panel Speaker pods coming soon
how do you think the sound will compare, cause i just cut 6" holes in my kick panels and mounted the speakers flush with the panel?

Re: Silverado Kick Panel Speaker pods coming soon
with the panels, it will angle the sound more at the occupants, opposed to the floor like your style. I mean, i wouldnt say it would significantly change it. Also, doesnt your kick panel get some water/mosture down there? so thats why your not supposed to just set a speaker in there?

Re: Silverado Kick Panel Speaker pods coming soon
The cowl area drains down into that area, so moisture will get in there. As for sound, I would agree with the above.

Re: Silverado Kick Panel Speaker pods coming soon
you said water would get in it but with the fenders off the speaker doesnt stick through the is a hollow space behind that kick panel as far as rust i thought you said water would collect from the cowl and then where would it go ? but no water can get to my speakers i'm just curious about the sound diff?

Re: Silverado Kick Panel Speaker pods coming soon
The hollow space behind the kick panel is the drain for the cowl. The big open area below the windshield (cowl) where the wipers are is an open area that goes down the side to where that kick panel is. If you remove the plastic panel where that vent is it gets the air from the cowl. If it is raining, and the truck is sitting still or you are washing the truck, water IS getting into that area. If you don't believe me, fill a gallon jug of water up and dump in into that area. I am not saying water pools into that area, I am saying it drains there. Most trucks have leaves caught up in there and they rust from behind this area.
I have no response on the sound other than better imaging possibly.

Re: Silverado Kick Panel Speaker pods coming soon
dont get twiztid all i was asking was sound quality. i believe you about the cowl draining there but how does the water get out of that area?if it doesnt drain to the ground and the water stayed in that area it would eventually cause rust.
