Awesome pics man!!!!!!!!!!!

That last pic was crazy!!! Did you notice the sand rooster that K5 was throwing??????? Damn!!! I didn't see him out there on Labor Day, I talked to the copper colored GMC Jimmy with the paddles.

At any rate, those were great. Thanks for sharing.

WHAT AN AWESOME IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would be glad to help organize the meet. I don't know who's in charge of such a matter, but I would be glad to help. I have all the numbers for the campgrounds and motels in the surrounding areas. I have been going for about 12 years consistently, each year the DNR makes more stupid rules, but it's always a good time.

Silver Lake is quite a small town, not alot to do there besides the dunes. If you keep going north along the shoreline there is some beautiful scenery, especially if you have never been to MI before.

A holiday weekend is alot of fun because of all the traffic, however, if the Board meeting was being held, you might not want all the chaos. It's nice to be on the dunes without having the worry of getting ran over.

Someone should post a voting pole to see if others would be interested in having it up here...

As of the last time I was there, you needed a Michigan ORV sticker. I'll call the local DMV and check with them about out of state trucks.

Thanks for looking into it, wouldn't wanna show up and not be able to play in the sand just cause we were missing paperwork or something.

We talking about doing this in August or September or...?

We do Rausch in Sept annually, so I want to be sure the dates don't conflict.

No problem.

The later the better for me...that way there may be a chance that mine will be ready to rock.

Re: Silver Lake Sand Dunes, MI (PICS)

that sounds like a good idea, planing on taking the blazer back up this year. have all the other toys. my last 71 blazer i had up there was still in school about 23 years ago. but at least the kids and wife still want to go. it was killing me last year not having mine done yet, but this year will be different hopefully. and if it goes throught on the meeting count me in. see you there this summer.

Yep you need a flag, Michigan ORV sticker, and a State Park sticker. There are DAILY or ANNUAL State Park stickers.

They also changed some rules on the holiday weekends, you have to have a special voucher to enter the dunes. But I don't want to confuse anyone just yet, let's wait and see what weekend we choose.

I personally vote for Labor Day weekend if there are only a handful of us. There will be a ton of action to watch.

Im game for Labor Day weekend, I just moved here from Vegas (prior to that Phoenix) and I miss Glamis Sand Dunes. Would be fun to see how the 72 does in the sand.

Well, What weekend do you guys want to go???? I realize it's FOREVER away.
But, so far it's seems to be looking like the end of summer. Do you guys want to do the Holiday weekend, to watch the masses. Or an off weekend, so we have the dunes to ourselves, for the most part.

I'm talking about 08'... But it would be really cool if we could start some kind of traditional meet for us Northeast guys.. I bet if we went for a couple of years and everyone posted their pics and stories, the meet would grow into a possible National meet.

What weekend do you want VTBLAZER???? I know you have about the longest haul, out of the few that are interested.

This will be tied into the road trip jaros44sr and I are hoping to pull off this summer.
Trying to get together and drive our blazers over the chevyman's place.

We're both still building but j's way ahead of me, we're talking about shooting for the 'end' of summer.

My .02 for the crowd thing would be less traffic.

I don't have a clue who to check with, nor have I been around long enough for anyone to listen. If someone has that kind of influence, I will do everything I can to help.
