Re: child's seats in blazer?
I don’t know how to do a link to an old post but if you do a forum search for “priceless carseat” I posted how I did mine a while back. Worked pretty good. My son is now 6’ tall and it was easy to do a modification to the roll bar to take it out when he grew up. Let me know if you can’t find it.

Interesting route to take. I just wasnt going to take chances with 1: legality and 2: rigging something up that left doubt in my mind...Im not sure I would trust ratchet straps during a car wreck with the safety of my child. |

That’s a $180 britax car seat and two 1000lb ratchet straps. May not be perfect but it’s a helluva lot better than either not having him ride with me until he was older or riding with a lap belt and booster seat in the front. Used it for a handful of local trips. He’s 16 now and wants to drive it lol.

Re: child's seats in blazer?
A safer alternative to just lap belts is available from Wesco. Wesco offers two 4 point seat belts (3 mounting points with a Y strap).
Installation instructions (available on product web page) show this require a floor anchor be added for each harness. This means drilling through the floor board. Two styles of latch are available to choose from (flip up chrome, or push button) and 30 colors of seat belt webbing. https://www.wescoperformance.com/4-p...ckle-help.html

Re: child's seats in blazer?
I followed the lead from SeventyOne and bought an E-Z-ON Harness.
However, I bought model #543 which does not bolt into the floor. It wraps around the seat back and also has a crotch strap (crotch strap doesn't have to be used). #543 can be adjusted to larger or smaller seat backs. I had to make it as small as possible to fit securely around the K/5 seat back. I bought the wrap around so I didn't have to drill a hole into the floor; That also makes it easy to swap around to different cars/trucks. I'd show you the back but I have a low profile truck bed box and you can't see much. $90 each from apartswarehouse.com https://apartswarehouse.com/product/...for-school-bus

Re: child's seats in blazer?
That's awesome to know that fits. I bought one of the wrap around style ones but the loop was too large (couldn't make it short enough) for my Ford's bench seat. I might got this route on my K5 too!!

Re: child's seats in blazer?
The tethered example is very similar but with the addition of a tether and can be used like the 543. I have both styles and both work on my 3.5 yo.

Re: child's seats in blazer?
Great question - I don't think so but can check the slack next chance I get to saddle her up.

Re: child's seats in blazer?
Here's my setup when the boy was small.
In Ontario a child's car seat can be mounted anywhere in the vehicle. (I checked with the MTO) If it's in the front seat the vehicle must NOT have a airbag or it must have the ability to shut the airbag off. BUT, where ever it's mounted, it HAS to be tethered. When he's in the backseat, I tethered his car seat to the rear seat belt bolts behind the seat. .

Re: child's seats in blazer?
I don't have pictures, but my son in law took it a bit farther. He built a full roll cage in his Blazer.
It's a 2wd. Last summer a guy said sarcastically, "A roll cage in a 2wd Blazer?". The answer, "Yep, my kids ride in there.".
