Got the intake and carb on and torqued down tonight. Going reinstall the radiator and hoses tomorrow and hope the leak is fixed...

Bummer man.

What pics of the auto's (TH350?) linkage do you need? I can grab some on saturday when I get to my truck.

Re: 1970 c10 resto(2nd attempt)

Well if ya can't borrow one maybe rent one at a tool rental store. We have several around here that rent portable cement mixers, commercial grade lawn mowers, sewer tools and lot's of other stuff. I rented an engine lift from one for a weekend once. Later on I bought my own from Sam's Club wholesale ( a division of and sort of like Walmart). I think I got a nice one for about $168 with engine leveling tool also. It folds up and doesn't take up much room at all in my shop.

Re: 1970 c10 resto(2nd attempt)

well 168 is alot better than the 280 for the one at o-reilly. theres a sams up in springfield im pretty close to there.

Re: 1970 c10 resto(2nd attempt)

280? YOW! For some guy who won't be using the thing very often he don't need to spend all that much but for someone say in a commercial garage he will be better off getting a much heavier duty tool.
The current trend in tools is to put decals on them like AC Delco, Goodyear, Nascar, etc. Name brand decals make them worth more.....sheesh! Anyway mine seems to be braced real good and plenty stout for all my needs. Shop around and you can save some bucks.

Re: 1970 c10 resto(2nd attempt)

Looking good! There is a tool shop on Kearney here in Springfield that I had bought a fold up engine hoist years ago. I think I gave $130 or so for it (can't remember for sure). May want to check it out. When you get ready to go looking give me a call, we can check it out. I'm not sure exact side streets that it is by so we can cruise up there together...

Re: 1970 c10 resto(2nd attempt)

yeah if your looking for a hoist check your local cregslist. I got a fold up hoist and a stand for $60. They are just tori/big red brand but for me it will be fine.

Liking the project and great to see you back at one of these trucks.
Nice wheel by the way I think I have the same one Do they still make them or is that used?
