Sat pics (3-8) featuring 68stepbed

We managed to find ourselves in Sevierville and spent a lil time with Matt and his wife. We thought it would be a good opportunity to take some pics of a truck that wasn't green or red! It was really the wrong time of day to really have that "sweet" light for shooting but we did the best we could. I hope you guys like em and props go out to Matt for putting together a sweet pickup!

The above shot (as well as bunch of the others) had a lot of glare to it. I added a tint to it that I thought gave it that ol 70s feel that a lot of old photographs have. Whatcha think?

Re: Sat pics (3-8) featuring 68stepbed

Couple more.

Rock on bro!

I'll post up some of the ones I tinted with that 70s funk and some sepias and black & whites tomorrow. I hated that a lot of these have so much glare to them but they tinted very well. Stay tuned!

Those 275s do look nice. How wide and what offset are the rear wheels?

A pic in front of Garrets muscle cars would have been sweet. We always stop there when goin' to P/F.

Great pics as always SeeTen. I have a question though. What does "joint" in the top center of the front license plate mean? It that a county name?

I'm sure Matt will chime in here to answer any and all questions about his cool pickup. In the meantime here's some more of that 70s funk.

Re: Sat pics (3-8) featuring 68stepbed

Last round! I promise. I don't know why Matt hasn't been on here, but if he hasn't answered any questions for you guys by tomorrow evening I'll give him a call and see what's up. I think the black/white and sepias really saved this round of pics. The glare was just so bad that day and the tints really seem to soften it up a bit. I hope you guys like em!

Oh..........Yes he's tall!

Re: Sat pics (3-8) featuring 68stepbed

I think see ten needs a site with nothing but his pictures. Keep them coming man. By the way, what program are you using see ten to do the different effects? I have a couple different programs I use and was just wondering which one you're using. Absolutely beautiful truck too, makes me want to get started on my grandfather's '68 short step.

Re: Sat pics (3-8) featuring 68stepbed

My wife has been talking about building us a website for our car club. Whenever that happens I guess I'll have free reign of the place (so to speak). The only software I use is what came with the camera. I don't use photoshop or anything like that. NOT that there's anything wrong with photoshop, I just don't use it (nor do I know how to).

Re: Sat pics (3-8) featuring 68stepbed

Hey guys, I'm finally here. I don't get to get on here much on the weekends. I'm usually doing family stuff. I'm glad ya'll like the pics. I know I do. Asa is pretty skilled with the camera.

To answer some questions, the wheel and tire specs are 15x8 Hopsters (4" bs) with 255/60/15 front 275/60/15 rear BFG T/A Radials.

LONGHAIR, the JOINT in the top of the license plate means a truck specific tag in TN. In the 60's, cars had to have matching front and rear tags that used renewable stickers like today. Trucks, however still used year specific plates each year and they only needed one. Tim Christian has a 67 JOINT tag on his 67 GMC. The tag was originally white with dark green letters. The green didn't match up with anything, so I repainted it with blue letters to match the paint. I used it from a spray can, so it's a little darker, but the contrast looks nice.

I AM a tall guy, I'm 6'4" 295 lbs. I had an original style seat redone for it with new foam. The foam is pretty stiff and sits me pretty high in the saddle. My upholstery guy is gonna cut down the seat brackets to get me some extra room.

Here's a couple underhood shots.
