Re: Truck all done!

Really like the truck. When I see trucks like this, makes me want to do a simple static drop w/some nice 17's or 18's. But then I look at bagged trucks on 20's and I wanna do that. Hence why I have yet to do either to my truck. LOL

Re: Truck all done!

We'll I was going to get the truck today, but mother nature decided to snow again. The crossmember is from Early Classic. The PO had the rollpan's on the front and back. I will put bumpers on it once I get it all painted. The color of the truck is turquoise. When I get it painted in a couple of years, I'll be going teal like Tim Christian's 67 GMC stepside.
I went with 17's because I wanted some meat in between the rim and road. I had 19's on my Audi and had to many problems on bending the rims. They were cheapier also. So I'll take more pics on Friday or Saturday. I have pics of the guages all together, but the pic was to blury.

It has 2 1/2 inch drop spindles and 1 1/2 drop springs, but I also have tubular control arms. I think it also has a drop. I might put the stock springs if the rake isn't right. I know on Friday. The back has a 5 inch drop.

Where did you get the 1.5" drop springs? I've only seen drop springs in increments of whole inches. It would be nice to have another option...

Re: Truck all done!

I need an your guys opinion. I'm being told my tranny is slipping by the shop. I haven't driven it in a while. Should I just rebuild the 350 or put in a 700R4 like I was planning on in the future. I know that there is a lot more into putting in a 700R4. Like shifter, crossmember, driveshaft and ect... Cost wise the 350 is the way to go. I already have everything good to go. I don't want to pay the money for the 700R4 right now. What would you do? I know it sounds like I already made my mind up, but I trust what you would do in my situation.

Re: Truck all done!

I got pics with new gauges, suspension and hydro boost. The gauges cluster is from Brothers with Autometer ultra lite gauges, the upper and lower control arms are from DJM, the spindles and disc brakes are from GMC Pauls and the hydro boost is from ABS. I can't wait to drive this truck. Know with the tranny problem; I'll have to wait until Tues or Wed of next week. I'm leaning towards just rebuilding my turbo 350. Wait a few years for the 700R4. Enjoy the pics.

Re: Truck all done!

Looks nice. I say go with the th350. That's my plan for now. As long as it doesn't involve body and paint work it can always be upgraded later.

Re: Truck all done!

I really like your wheels, you wouldn't happen to remember the backspacing would you?

I got to tell you, it's really nice when the 4th gear drops in around 50mph on my R200 (a couple hundred cheaper because 1st gear is not low like R700 and may not hold up to big HP, which I don't have).

The backspacing was 4.5 in front and 5 in the back. i did have to have the rotors hub turned. The dust cap hit the wheel cap. The cap was really shallow. Not really deep style cap. No big deal.
