any advice about the speed/power issue, i didnt think the 305 would have any trouble with the 33's

I think you did good. There's a local guy here that put a really rough 78 up for sale for $1000. I mean this truck body is totally gone with rust and dents, and he stood firm on his price. I think you did a good job. I'd go ahead and do the mods to the engine and tune up like you suggested, then re-evaluate. The diffs may have too high of gears to run those 33's, you may have to lower your ratios a little.

well see i guess, im swapping the carb out today for my eddie 600 performer and im doing the cap and rotor...possibly (i have 2 used and 1 on the truck...whatever is best goes on) intake is waiting a while...gotta install the front driveshaft and bleed the brakes before i mess around too much
