Re: Drop it?

There is definatly some Corvette in this truck...

I was under the impression that you cant drop the front more than 2" without drop spindals, we'll find out when we cut the springs. I know I should be able to fit 255's on the front-

Re: Drop it?

David is the man to see when it comes to Corvette optioned trucks. He sold me a '69 C-10 with the Ultra-Rare Corvette Option (RPO#OU812) hood mounted antenna. You can see pics below!

I have a 3in spring drop with about 2 inches or so between the bump stop and metal thing that it hits. No time for fancy speak.

I had 265-70s up front when I 1st dropped it and it had tons of clearance. But you'll need a big alignment job afterwards though.

Re: Drop it?

She went under the knife today...4" drop springs in the rear and we cut out somewhere between 3/4 and 1 coil in the front so maybe 2.5". We didnt measure before...IT LOOKS GOOD! We did it right the first time! Sorry for the crappy cell phone pic, I'll take more tomorrow. Orange w/ cousin Pretty Boy in the back-

Ive cut coils in 10+ trucks ....1/2 ton, 3/4 ton and even 1 ton and I have NEVER noticed a ride difference unless it bottoms out the stock shocks?!?!?

Re: Drop it?

Maybe it's how our trucks are sprung, but in theory when you cut a spring you increase it's spring rate. It's a complex explanation as to why though.

Could be that our trucks are sprung so softly that the increased stiffness isn't as noticeable.

Re: Drop it?

I havnt noticed a difference in the ride...at all if any. I may have a dead shock on the driver front, but other than that it's TITS. I'll take some better pics in the AM.

Re: Drop it?

South Cobb turns into Delk Rd which is about a 1/2 mile away...very close. Hit 'em up...we'll drop your wife's new ride a couple of inches!

I can't do that, she'd drop my jaw a few inches! I keep saying I'm going to come up and look David's beautiful '72 K10, but I'm afraid I'd have to go in debt! I love that truck!
