Re: Sat pics (7-19) Brandon's debut! (Welcome and congrats are in order!)
Price??....It was cheap enough to not be afraid to put a 16 yr old in!
Seriously, it was well below what I would consider "market". The truck has new tires, a new chrome plated steel grill shell, custom autosound stereo (which sucks as most people will agree) and cold air. I'd call it an above average condition driver. I'll be sure to keep you guys updated when the mods start getting completed. |

How much?Too much I`m sure. That thing is WORTHLESS!!
Brian, how could a father do this to a kid?Now Brandon will be worthless as you and your friends. (you did get him a t-shirt,right?)

Did you find that truck in Tennessee? I hope that's not the one that I have been checking out. I spotted one in East Tennessee that I was planning on taking a look at when I head to Knoxville.

Re: Sat pics (7-19) Brandon's debut! (Welcome and congrats are in order!)
I was going to say, from what I see it is worth whatever they paid, and if they got a deal, good for them! My kids will have a truck for their first vehicle (daughter is 15 1/2 now) but she isn't too into driving yet so I wait patiently til she wants to learn (and grows up a bit!) Her truck will not be as nice as this one is unless she puts in the effort and time, then we will do it together. I was pretty mechanically inclined as a kid and when my brother called me and said he had a truck for me, I learned alot more with him there beside me. That was a long time ago and my brother has since passed, I cannot tell in worrds how much I cheerish those times, as I am sure this father and son deal will make those kind of memories for all involved.
At first I was going to say I was a bit envious of his first truck, but mine to me was way more special to me. That being said, what about the segment of our population out there buying new or late model cars for their kids and are not mechanically inclined themselves?? I really feel sorry for them as they'll never have the memories we have of building these trucks with our dad, brother, son, daughter, etc, etc. They just don't get it do they, it is more than just a vehicle it is a life long learning/bonding moment. Sorry to get so sappy, but I am very thanful for the 3 months I got to hang out with my brother and all of the things I learned and continue to learn because he got me started, as I am sure this sweet truck will do for it's new owners as well!! Re: Sat pics (7-19) Brandon's debut! (Welcome and congrats are in order!)
Brandon's a worker! This is him helping us lower Brian's truck a year or so back.
If I dig around a bit I might be able to find a pic of him operating a welder. I'm proud to see that he and Brian are able to work together. So many family members are incapable of this kind of cooperation. |

Congrats again! You need to get your own username now. 71see10jr or 72see10 would be cool for you! I can't wait to see an updated group shot with your's, your dad's, Asa's and Chuckle's trucks all together.

I just hope he doesnt do like the local rednecks and try to make it very very loud. When they go by it sounds like a loud pop sound.

The amazing spawning Chevy.
The truck looks absolutely cherry. Luckiest kid in the world right there. My first car was a 79' Elcamino with massive rust issues and half shot rings. Good to see someone raised their kid right. One sweet truck there. |

Re: Sat pics (7-19) Brandon's debut! (Welcome and congrats are in order!)
He's 14 and 1/2! Cut him some slack he's been coming in to a growth spurt lately! Brian and his wife are planning to drive the truck all that they can between now and when he turns 15 to get all of the bugs out of it. After he gets his learners permit they're going to put him behind the wheel of it EVERYWHERE they go. They're goal is to have him comfortable with the truck by the time he get's turned loose with it at 16. So many young drivers have problems due to a lack of experience or nervousness in an unfamiliar vehicle.
Brandon's a skater so I suggested his user name should be "SK8 TRUCK"! |

Re: Sat pics (7-19) Brandon's debut! (Welcome and congrats are in order!)
Brian's wife has actually been pulling most of the wheel duty on this one so far. Brian already has his green one and has another swb fleetside that's coming together. Before Brandon get's turned loose with this one there will be enough 71-72's in the garage for each of em to have one.
