Ok that's what i figured, but I didn't know if it was threaded it there or something. And do you hit in on the rear side or the front side? Or does it matter? Just don't wanna be whacking away at it only to find out I was going the wrong direction. LOL

hit it from the front side after removing the nut, how low do ya think it will be aired out. i'd like to see pics of the stance when finished. lookin good so far, keep up the progress.

Well, it's not gonna be as low as most of the others on here. Not layin frame or pinch welds! LOL Just the standard bag/C-notch/2" drop block set-up in back. I just want it to have some attitude!

being we have to do emissions your gonna have to route the exhaust so they can test it aint ya ??? i wish the flow i had was a 40. mines quiet and i dont like it at all.....

I got the DS rear brake done and set her back on all fours. She sits a 1/2 higher on the PS b/c the bolts from the C-notch hit the panhard bar. I could put em in upside down, but I'm not worried about it b/c I think I'm going to put some bump stops in the notches to keep my pumpkin from hitting the bed floor. If I don't like it, I can always raise the bed floor or cut it out later. And by that time I'll probably be wanting weld in step notch/dropmember/etc.
BTW, that notch was made by McGaughy's and I wasn't real happy w/the fit, but it will have to do b/c I would like to get this truck driveable before school gets too hectic.

Anyway, this is what she looks like aired out. Kinda hard to tell how low she is since the bed's not on and it's in my cramped garage. Like I said, she's no where near laying frame. But that's ok for now. As long as she's got some attitude when parked and looks good on cruises and is dependable, I'll be happy!

Next on the list is some wiring and running fuel line to the new gas tank.

Thx Nate! I hope so. It's taken way longer than I thought it ever would just to get it to this point. But I've learned so much about these trucks (and I'm still learning) and my toolbox has grown exponentially. LOL I think I've also learned a lot about myself in the process. I used to pass by a big pile of parts everyday in my living room. Now it's a small pile and getting smaller.

I still have a large checklist of things to do, but I keep checking things off, so at least I know I'm making progress!

Not much to report. And no pics! Got my fuel line fabbed up and mounted. That was actually harder than I thought it would be. I have a bender/cutter/flare kit from Napa, and although it worked well, I found out that I don't like bending tubing. Next time I'm going w/the stainless braided hose instead.

Ended up ordering a new engine harness b/c I tried to fix mine and that didn't work too well. Figure I can sell the new one later when I go to a full custom harness. Decided I'd wait on that until after I finish body work and paint (years from now LOL.) Hopefully the rest of the POS wiring will hold up.

So while I'm waiting on my wiring to get here, I figure I can get my air management stuff hooked up and mounted. I originally was going to put it in the bed, but now I think I'm gonna mount it on the frame. I tell ya, I'm tired of drilling holes! Makes my head feel like this --->

Once again, no real progress. Got some new tires put on the front b/c I had to swap the old front ones onto my burb. Pulled it out and washed some of the dust from grinding away at the rivets and such. You can see the drop up against the burb. I think it's gonna look so good w/some 20's!

Thx man. I debated on putting it on the ground, but my wallet wasn't gonna let it happen. Besides, I would have had a truck that would lay out but wouldn't make it safely to the corner store. I can't wait to get the bed back on it and really see what it's gonna look like.

just curious on the gas tank, do you just have it mock installed now? i was wondering since it is mounted on top of the frame rails, would you be able to remove the tank if needed w/o having to remove the bed.? IE : replace the sending unit etc.

Good eye! No, it's in it's final resting spot. That's the way this tank is designed. Yes, it's going to be a real PITA when I need to fix anything, but those beds do come off pretty easily, so I'm not too worried about it.

Rodstored... ya just lemme know, like I said, I doubt I'll be in my '67, but I can come out and shoot the sh*t with y'all.

Picked up my polished billet radio trim bezel (wow that's wordy!) from Mahanian (Jared) today. It sure is a nice piece, and if you're thinking about buying one, you should. It really is a work of art, and he put some time into it. Not only do you get the bezel, but he supplies the mounting screws/washers, a polishing cloth and INSTRUCTIONS! Not that I read instructions, but still! (Nice meeting you btw, Jared.)

Now I guess I need to buy a CD player to go in the dash. LOL

My truck is on hold until I get 'The Big Unit' (burb) going again. But, between the mosquitos and the heat (burb is in the driveway), I just couldn't bring myself to do any work on the beast. I had noticed yesterday that one of the brand new tires on my truck had leaked down. So off to Discount Tire I went.

Come to find out, my wheel was cracked. Not real positive on how that happened, but as you can see in the pic, the whole weld looks like it's failing. Guess I'm going to call around and see what it will cost to fix the wheel. It's an old Boyd Coddington wheel, and the DT guy said American Racing was taking care of their 2-piece cast wheels now. Hopefully it won't cost an arm and a leg to fix. I eventually want some 20's, but these things were supposed to carry me through until I get the $$. Somebody sh*t in my Cheerios this morning, I swear!

Found out today that my wheel can't be fixed. I can't afford the 20's I want, so I guess I'm gonna look for some 6-lug rallies or something to hold me over. I wonder how much of a market there is for 3 good wheels and a broken one? LOL

Going has been slow. School is kicking my butt.

I did get my rally wheels in. I bought 15x8's for the front and 15x10's for the rear. I mocked up the rear ones, and I just don't see how they will clear when I dump the suspension (without work.) So I think I'm just going to go with more 15x8's until I can afford the wheels I really want, and have the time to make room for them.

I got the bed laid on the frame. Still have to do some cutting for my gas tank filler. The bed is just a sheet of plywood right now (PO), so it should be easy enough. Gotta get my steel floor blasted and primed. Think I'm gonna go w/a rhino liner type on it so I can actually use it!



I also can't decide on trim ring or no trim ring.... What do you think?

Are you reading my mind!? I was actually thinking of going black, but I don't think I ever mentioned it... ? They came silver from Summit. These are going to be temporary (I hope), so I'm not gonna spend too much money on em.

The pass. side fit fine w/the gas tank in place. But the DS mount wanted to hit the tank, and when it cleared the tank it wanted to hit the seat track. Maybe with a little ingenuity it would fit fine, but I couldn't get it to work.
