Re: track times with ls1
I'm still wondering how it weighs 3,800lbs. Not doubting it, but with a alum LS1 and no power steering, no heater, no front bumper, drag lites ect I was still at 3,840.. I'm wondering if the 67-72's weigh less then my 63 from the factory..

Grrrrr... I am trying to get this pig to 3,500lbs with me in it for the next time out. I'm assuming these are TH350 or TH400 trucks?

Re: track times with ls1
If you can find a 99 6.0L, the crank sticks out further in the back so you won't need a special convertor for the t350.

That would be interesting to find out how much the bad weighs. Is there any way to weigh a motor?

Re: track times with ls1
My LS1 with an alum intake, electric water pump, alternator, crank pulley weighed in at 400lbs with the engine stand and front motor plate hanging on it.
I have a game scale to weigh things. You can find them on e-bay for a decent price. Just look for the higher weight rated ones.
