Sorry to hear about your misfortune.
What part of NH are you from?
My brother had the same thing happen to his car. He had just taken in off of insurance to store it for the winter(they live in claremont, nh).

Re: This just sucks

yea, it's pretty smashed up. the night that it happened it didn't look to bad because the limbs were covering it up and made it look like a broken windsheild and a few small dents but when the tree was cut up the truth was revealed.

the sad thing is that was only the top part of the tree

This totally sucks. However, like mentioned before... no one got hurt.
I would soooo be getting ahold of the home owner's ins on this.

Re: This just sucks

Just got home from work & logged on -- and this is the first post I see. Dang!

As mentioned, hopefully your neighbor's homeowner's insurance will take care of the financial end of it. With any luck, it's only (did he say only??) sheet metal damage. Sure wouldn't think the frame would be tweaked from that...

Keepin' my fingers crossed here...

Re: This just sucks

I can see a broken spring, or bent control arm, but I doubt the frame is bent.
But then again, we've all seen crazy stuff...

Re: This just sucks

Didn't a fella on here have a green/white cheyenne that a tree fell on in the street (tree came from his property) and his home owner's wouldn't pay up

Hopefully this is different? When the tree fell on my truck at Clemson, as lucky as I was with virtually no damage, Clemson wouldn't pay me a dime for it.

Re: This just sucks

Outhouse luck having that tree fall on your truck. But as said it could have been worse. I suggest a weak spring causing the lean. If the frame is bent it can be straightened by most any collision repair shop and faster than you might think. For your peace of mind you might want that frame measured anyway. One advantage you have with this truck is you have already been all over it and know what you have versus starting with another truck all over again.

Sorry to see your loss. I hope the damage isn't as bad as you think it might be.

I lived in pine tree infested Missippi for 12 years but thankfully moved back home to West Texas two years ago.

No pine trees around here!!!

Huge bummer. You have a better attitude about it than I would.

Since I made your av ages ago I figured it would be ok if I took the liberty to update it.

Re: This just sucks

I can relate, back in December '06 we had a blast of wind go through here and took a pine tree down in my yard which landed on my work truck-(1991 Izuzu) and also landed on my step son's beater Nissan- did alot of damage but luckily missed my '69 GMC, anyway, cutting up what's left of the tree should be somewhat therapeutic, it was for me. Hope you can get your truck fixed and back on the road again.

I hate winter...so sorry about your truck...but it could have been worse. When trees fall in my yard they do lots of damage...no trucks so far but the top of one of these got VERY close!

Re: This just sucks

OMG... I'm sorry to hear about this. Hopefully everything will work out for the best with the insurance company. As tcb-1 mentioned, it appears that the majority of the parts will be a simple repaint/replace process.

Keep us posted on the outcome... and again sorry to hear about this.
