Re: 67-72 short box 4x4 trucks... lets see pics

Yeah,it`s my project "Up In The Air",in more ways than one.I haven`t done a thing.Got it cheap enough. It`s a 307/3spd that I`ve never heard run.I have a 4spd set-up and a running`71 350.If I go with that I`d like to build it into a 383.Who knows,I`d really like to build-up a 292 or a diesel. The bed was worse than it looks and I have a Stepside on it now.I want this to be a trailworthy dual purpose machine.I have a set of K/30 axles, but gonna use a HO52 I have with No-Spin in the rear.I got 12.50/37 SSRs from Kurt that`ll go on it.AND,a 69/70 GMC front clip and tailgate.I have all kinds of plans, but don`t want to get out there too far with the "I`m gonnas".You never know, right?
It`s just settin`there looking at me for now.

Tim,

That sounds like me. The Holley doesn't like the cold....or the rusty gas tank. Just keeping the DD running is work enough in this weather. I am switching over to a Quadrajet with an rpm intake. Hopefully it will run better and get a little better MPG. At least my only truck payment is the parts I buy!

Same here.A good Q-jet is just the ticket,IMO.My`72 is waiting for a steering box anyday and Thursday my`92 either threw the pressure plate or trans shaft broke.Sounded aweful, had to shut it down and call a friend to trailer it where we can tear into it.I`m screwed for transportation at the moment. It`s too nasty to pull the trans outside this weekend.ARGHHhhh!!!

Ooooh...nice batch of truck rat thar.I don`t care who y`are.

I may need to throw a steering box from a`70 Blazer I parted last September.I`ve had it sitting for like 25 years.Ya think the seals might leak?I just may tommorrow if a need to get food.
My dang Harley broke the drive belt last fall or I`d ride that.Hey,wind chill only works down to 40.

Special, i bet if you cut the posts down to 5 or 6 a day. You could possibly make some progress on that fine 71' or get the belt changed on your hog. IN THE APROXIMATLY 1,520 DAYS THAT YOU HAVE BEEN A MEMBER YOU HAVE 23,044 POSTS. THAT IS BETTER THAN 15 A DAY (EVERY DAY). DO YOU SLEEP?

I already have a 1st gen blazer, and a shortbed 4x4 79 Ford, maybe my next project needs to be a 71-72 SWB 4x4 or a K20, I can't decided.

Damn Tim,

I never would have guess you got that much **** goin' on. I feel for ya bro. If there is anything I can do I will. Do you have a steering box? I got tons of parts. Sounds like you need to ditch that POS 92 and build a real truck. That is what I did. Just one old good one. Easy to fix. I don't know haw you always seem to be in a good mood, But good on ya! Keep your head up, Its just a time.

Here's my 72K10. Its got a 350 crate motor but I put GMPP vortec heads with a low end torque Comp Cam kit. Also put a TH400 in it with a NP205 transfer case hooked to a Gear Vendors overdrive. Gas tank is out of the cab with a fuel cell in the bed. The interior is soundproofed with leather Caddy power seats. Its no trailer Queen and sees plenty of time in the woods during hunting season. I love these old trucks!
