Re: Jimmy soft top?

Sounds good .I dont know how fast this thing is going to move so I must say I'm going to continue on with trying to build one for my self but that doesnt seem to be going anywhere fast either.
I guess when I am able to get a certain date for delivery is the date I will commit to purchace . However I have an industrial sewing machine and my brother is somewhat of an expert boat top maker aswell and on his way out to visit me after Chrismas for a week or two so we shall see what comes of this meet.
Mean while if should finish my top I'll try to keep patterns and pics for this board.

Re: Jimmy soft top?

I just got a black STC Fastrac with tinted windows for $335 shipped complete with everything. Almost like new. So they are out there. I'm not ready to restore the Jimmy yet, but when it warms up I'll install it and see how it is. Plus now I have hardware to get the bikini top, which may be more practical for the TX sun. I'm excited.

Wow congrats on that score, what a deal... i wonder if you were to contact some of the former vendors if any of them would have any NOS tops without them knowing the gems they have..?

Re: Jimmy soft top?

I got my stc for 2500 of course the jimmy came with it the sidewindows will remove to make a bikini top that goes from front to back. My seams are coming loose so sounds like repair only since you can not buy new anymoore. Other than leaking around the jimmy windows i love it

Re: Jimmy soft top?

Hi all : )

I have spoken a number of times with CAN-BACK / TRUCK CANDY.
Supposidly they are planning on building next year as interest is growing.
Please go to the website and send your info and call. From what I was told they built one-off back in the day. Then the company got sold and the new company does not have the tooling. The more the interest the quicker we might me able to get something going! Check out their new 66-77 Bronco top
I would imagine the Blazer would be similar.

Here is the truck it was originally built for!!

Re: Jimmy soft top?

thanks, I actually delayed a day or 2 before buying it. I also saw the can-back one on the bronco and it almost looks like a complete frame to the top and I wonder how it stores when you want to take the top down. I also looked back at posts years ago and they said "6 months or so" then. So figured I'd jump on it. It looks great just dusty. Pics aren't worth it until it's on so I'll post then. Looks just like "RLONG"'s just black.
