If I had the 1 & 1/2" narrower axle, they wouldn't fit, and if my math is correct, that's only going to give you 1/4" of clearance.(If you don't have too much tire buldge)
Good point! I will have to do some measuring. If that's the case,... I may need to use my 71-72 rearend after all.

Re: 6-lug to 5-lug questions,... (experts/gurus check-in)

gcburdic,... I think I have the front stuff covered.
I'm using new McGaughy's 2.5" drop spindles ($100 swap meet bargain), and 3" Summit coils that I already had. Plus I'm throwing on the old rotors from the blazer with new calipers.
If you want to go ahead and post the link in here,... that would be great. I know alot of people ask questions about doing this swap.

My original intent was to swap in my 71-72 rearend,... until I got to thinking about using the narrow '69 rearend with conversion axles. Now you got me wondering about the backspacing.

So,... does anyone have a 5" backspaced wheel with the narrow 67-70 rearend?

JBristo, you said you know a guy that has rear ends. do you have his name? I'm also looking to do a swap but on a 64.
Lowlife keep up the work, I've followed a lot of your threads. I didn't know there was so much diffrence in the lengths of the diffrent years. I'm just glad I found this forum before I start my build. I should dislike you JBristo just because you like Tech. But you like trucks so your cool!
