If you are asking why in reference to why the owner decided to paint his a truck a color HE likes, then I say why not? Sounds like you have a fear of the salmon color ... insecure maybe?

I always liked that truck. Not a cookie cutter. I thought I remembered him saying he was going to part it for another ride he was working on if he didnt sell it...Looks like it eventually sold.

Re: Didnt this use to be a members truck? (68 SWB, pink, lowered, 20's)
That is my old truck and I wouldn't go back and change a thing that I did. I made all my decisions on the truck with the utmost confidence of the outcome. The color IS Sherwin-Williams Tropical Peach. The guages may be overkill to some, as well as the paint color, however, there is one thing that no one can deny...IT GETS NOTICED! That was the main reason for my decisions. I wanted it to stand out, like it or not. I would LOVE to have it back as is, with the exception of the NAPA horn button that someone obviously put in after I sold it. I built this COMPLETELY myself. I have no regrets except that I sold it. BTW, it was a favorite at MANY shows that I attended and brought home a few awards. By no stretch of the imagination is it a high dollar build but it is something that I am proud of. Mark

Funny how quiet the nit-pickers get once the guy who built the truck showed up.

I wasn't asking why for the owner, it was meant for you. FuelCellGuy, Very nice workmanship on the truck. The color I don't agree with for me but hey it's your truck well it was your truck. Gauges are a little over kill for me. None the less it's a nice truck. Sorry this turned into this kind of post. I apolagize to 1LoC10.

Re: Didnt this use to be a members truck? (68 SWB, pink, lowered, 20's)
Gotta love the "buy low and sell stupid high" world of classic car dealer sales....Cheap fix-ups like the HELP horn button and the mismatched headlights makes me not trust that seller! Not knocking your truck....this happens to all of the vehicles that we have built and sold...something stops working and it is replaced with the cheapest part possible to make a buck. I saw a vehicle that we sold for big dollars that was being resold FOR MORE with non-functioning airride!!! IDIOTS.......
PS. I LIKE THE COLOR!!!

Re: Didnt this use to be a members truck? (68 SWB, pink, lowered, 20's)
Good looking truck no matter what the nitpickers say about the color and gages. It would be really boring if we all built our trucks exactly alike.
Now my back wants to know, what is the seat out of? After putting 320 miles (Portland Roadster show and back) on the 71 yesterday it is time to put in a seat that has some real back support. |

This digression to derogatory posting is exactly why I hate to see this type of post made.
Please keep in mind when you post this is a "Public Forum". That means anyone that has access to a computer and the internet can read what you post. Would you be so rude as to tell the owner to his face some of the comments made here? No you would not. DO NOT do it here either, as you never know when the owner of a truck posted is on this forum.
