Yea I know....being a chevy man through and through it cuts me deep when I think about the ford rear...but you pretty much hit it...one of those things when it was around when I needed it and it worked...lotta fun though regardless...good luck with your build..keep us posted |

Re: My '83 SWB tear down and rebuild
Picked the cluster up from a swap meet in Carlisle, Pa. purchased the wnite overlays off a guy on ebay, dis-assembled, painted them white and then applied the overlays over them...turned out pretty good...not perfect but ok...having a hellva time getting them wired correctly...if I dont get it soon Imma sell him and get aftermarket...realy like the look of the stockers though
Thank you sir...been a long tuff haul getting it back together, lack of time and money put a damper on things quick...getting there slowly but surely...the kind words are greatly appreciated Last edited by RonnieTheBull; 07-24-2009 at 11:12 AM. |

Square bodies look so tough from the front especially with a cowl induction hood! Nice truck.

Re: My '83 SWB tear down and rebuild
I used a kit from Autoloc....I actually went with 100 pound solenids....I started with 35's but couldn't get them to open the latch all the way...everytime I would adjust the tension it would not open the latch completely....I'm no pro at this though by anymeans....I'm alomost sure that I heard of guys on here using 35's....may have been a defective unit...or just an error on my behalf.....good luck and keep us informed

Re: My '83 SWB tear down and rebuild
I was wondering if you had any pictures of your rear suspension?
Looks like you relocated your springs under the frame to make more tire room. Hagen
