LOL! Thanks PD! You know we are all obsessed! Thanks to all who had a part in setting this up. And more props to slick71 for the help with firedog's truck! I have said it before and will continue to say that this board has the best group of people! Never a hesitation to help out a fellow member! Props to all! Next year you can all stay in the "hotel" with us! Might even bring the multiple car garage so our trucks can all be covered.

Re: Midwest Board Meet Pictures

Thanks Wayne for putting the pic of the ford up and thanks to all for not throwing bricks. I had a great time and was glad to meet some new people. Saw alot of nice scenery and even had a good nights sleep for a change. It was nice to have a day off and relax, and now seeing how nice some of the other guys trucks were makes me want to get mine done that much faster.

I don't see a pic of Leon talking on the phone and making a lost soul regret not being there. but in that person's defense he was busy working on another member's truck. that person will do everything possible to make it in Sept though. he may even drag a couple other local guys along.

I didn't see it in any of the posts, where did this take place, and will it be in the same locale next year?

Re: Midwest Board Meet Pictures

I'll be putting some feelers out there, but we'll probably end up a little closer to Des Moines next year. The 4 hour trip I've done in the past couple years gets to be bit much.

There have been a ton of guys from MO show up both years, and would hate to make it much of a longer drive for them, so I'm thinking about Lake Red Rock, or Lake Rathburn for next year.

Maybe some of you MN guys will make it down then

Re: Midwest Board Meet Pictures

My thoughts exactly! Once I get a new hanger bearing and new tires, I'll trust it further than the local cruises. I drove it 6.5 hrs home when I bought it, so 4 hrs is easy. Of course I my have to get the radio working, long ride with no tunes! Might need the OD working too. Geez, I guess I still have a load of stuff to fix!

Not so fast there Nate... You're only sayin' that because you haven't met this guy. He can be big trouble. The only guy I know that will tow a 3 ton truck with a 1/2 ton pickup..

j/k

Re: Midwest Board Meet Pictures

Update. Sorta. Had to recover Firedogs truck from Kirksville as those know who attended the gathering. So I met Roluje in Kirksville Saturday. We left town around noon planning a 5 hr trip pulling the 68 on his trailer. However we had some slight problems with Rolule's Dodge. After replacing wires, cap, plugs etc the Dodge just didn't quite measure up. Still had a horrible miss. After some calls to several people finally got Firedogs 68 and Roluje's trailer parked at my place. it is now 3:12 am Sunday. Pics posted tomorrow. I want to thank everyone who helped with this operation recovery. Especially two of our members. Slick 71 (Lee), and the outstanding lets give it an ol try roluje (Ron). Hope your trip back home (KC) is safe. And the asprin for the dodge isn't too expensive. Rep points for both!

Man, when it rains it pours don't it..... Glad it is home safe and sound and props to Lee & Ron. I agree on the rep points, that went beyond the call of duty.

Sammy, I'm glad to hear you were able to at least get the truck to your house. Was anyone in the StL area able to help out last night?

Ron, props to you!

Lee, props to you as well!

Re: Midwest Board Meet Pictures

Update on Roluje's progress. As of an hr ago he was 40 miles from home. Had stopped to gather a meal. Said the truck was running much worse but could at least at worst end get a tow from where they are now home. Said the truck was limping along getting worse most of the day.
Last nite we did make a few calls to some board members for sugestions or help. We did talk to some and finally decided on the course of action we took. At one time here on the board we had an emergency contact list. Now apparently it isn't current or updated. maybe we could start another for similar situations? Just a thought. Sometimes just a guest bed, or a wrench might make a difference in someone getting stranded. Just a thought.
Some people might not be able to help much but may have an idea or know the area of where to get help in these type situations.

Not sure but I believe the Dodge pulls it up hill & Firedogs 68 pushing the Dodge down the hills.

Re: Midwest Board Meet Pictures

Just got an update from roluje. We made it home on about 5 cyl. under it's own power. Thinks the chevy god's were upset about being pulled by a Dodge. And that maybe it's time for new chevy truck...!!!

We still have the contact list and it is current. Problem is noone will sign up for it. There are 9 signed up here in Missouri. Springfield 3, KC 1, STL 2 (3 counting myself), Jeff City 3. There has been a stuck thread in GD trying to get members to sign up for a long time. It has also be discussed about doing away with it because of lack of interest.

Of the three name I had to call, one was better than an hour behind you and the other was maybe 30 miles away but hasn't been on the board for some time. I don't have a trailer, but had some ideas, and noone called me back.

The only way the contact list works is if members here sign up and give us their information.
