man those guys need to get a life...and expand their horizons. whats with the racism? im glad this site has better people than that on it.
and eric, whats with people telling you you need new wheels? i have the exact same wheels as you and i love them. just cuz they aren't 20's...i can see how some people wouldnt like them but they should be able to see that you paid good money for them and worked hard for it....just something that ticks me off. and dont worry, i catch plenty of ch*t about my truck being lowered too...since i live in wyoming and i am surely in the minority here as far as ride height. (btw, i hunt, fish, camp, all that fun stuff...just not in my truck by the way, your truck looks awesome. keep up the good work.

I don't care for the whole idea that lowering a truck makes it usless. My beater is lowered 5/7 & I can still tow my 18ft car hauler w/o problems, or, I've always got something in the bed . . . either way, it gets used all the time. There are @ least 4 newer model trucks(78 &up) out in my work parking lot that are 4whl drive that have never been off of the pavement, to me, that's a waste. I know lowering isn't for everyone, but I like it & think your ride looks good.

anyways...
nice truck bro. I just bought an '80 swb stepside, and my wife and I agree that its a little too low for us. (not a lot of choices here in Hawaii, and the price was definitely right!!) It's been lowered at least 5/5, but I'm not savvy on these things. The tires have got to go though. We both agree that it needs bigger tires.(205/60R15s in front 235/60R15s in rear.) What size are yours? I like em. The rims are cool too, but I have some Primes already. I'll post a picture as soon as I figure out all this hi-tech stuff. LOL!!

fellas
i'm not racist. but i cant stand lowered trucks. they serve no usefulness to me what soever. why not get an el comino, or station wagon? to me its just another money pit thats for looks only. but then again i have no use for a 4wheel drive either. but i would take a 4wheeler before i would take a lowered truck anyday.
but to each his own. |

whats racist have to do with anything? Not liking lowered trucks doesn't make you racist (grin). I understand your point though. My wife and I just moved from lower AL (I worked in Pascagoula, MS) and I needed to start a lot of sentences with 'I'm not racist, but...'. Touchy subject down there.
I used to say the same thing about trucks, but I have since broadened my horizons. Chebys look just as nice with a low profile and fat meats as they do four feet in the air. My only complaint is the excessive bounce from the cut/compressed springs. My wife told me I needed new shocks.:p |

What about the rear? Any problems there? I can cut and/or pull my inner fender lip up to gain about an extra inch for width both front and rear. I'm thinking of going 255/front and 275/rear. (stepside) Those wheelwells just swallow the smaller tires! Whatcha tink? Feasible?

275/60/15's in the rear are perfect i'm sure you could easily fit 295's under there if you needed to.
