Here is a pic of the glove box door, and 2 from under the gas tank. I took it out to clean the tank before driving.

Re: My 1968 50th anniversary Stepside's home
I only took the gas tank out to have the inside of it flushed. There was some nasty colored old gas in it. I plan on driving the truck alot!

Re: My 1968 50th anniversary Stepside's home
GM's papers say the 50th annv aplication was avalible on all Chevy trucks.
The only models I haven't seen yet are the El Camino, panel truck, and panel van. |

Re: My 1968 50th anniversary Stepside's home
Man, that's a great truck. You did good, I think.
There is a short fleet that I drive past every day that sure looks like a 50th, at least from the outside. I've stopped several times to ask about it, but I havn't caught the guy home yet. It has sat in place for at least 3 years. I'd love to have a 50th. I parted out a C-20 'Burb 50th before I knew better. I'm still kicking myself over it.

Re: My 1968 50th anniversary Stepside's home
You would be surprised what a good compound/buff job would to to that paint. There is a member here that just did that to a reb blazer and you would not believe how well it turned out!
Nice score enjoy. |

Re: My 1968 50th anniversary Stepside's home pics added 7/15
Here are some more pics. I got the gas tank back in, put the mirrors back on, removed my spare tire, (my boy hated that), cleaned the rubber mat, door panels, and put on my other rallye wheels and bigger tires.

Re: My 1968 50th anniversary Stepside's home
There's an article in the current Hemming's about preserving solid original vehicles instead of restoring them. I'm all for it. That is one great truck!

Re: My 1968 50th anniversary Stepside's home
Those other wheels, and tires look great on there! I'm on the fence about the spare. I don't really like it on there, but then it looks like something's missing since the fender is concave for it. It's a catch 22
