Re: Assembly Manual Index
Derek, I've got most of the Blazer pages earmarked in my manual. I'll start putting those in when you are ready for me to. Do I need a log in to use the spreadsheet?

I changed the permission on the spreadsheet so that anyone with the link can edit it.

Re: Assembly Manual Index
I'd like to see us get this thread going again. I've numbered my book but came up with 1064 pages NOT the 1066 previously posted. So far I've labeled 136 pages in my personal copy of the spreadsheet & copied many of those into the Google doc version too. I've hit a point where info in the online doc does not match my version. Please help me resolve where I'm off. My p.267 is the plug wires for the L6, not the V8 as Red71Cheyenne has listed.
Anyone want to get involved? Post it up.

Re: Assembly Manual Index
Yes I am. Thanks for confirming p.267 for me. Can you spot check a few of my entries between 295-446 to make sure those match yours? I want to do more updates but don't want to mess anyone up.

Re: Assembly Manual Index
OK I put up some more updates. I'm stuck on My p.582 - Park Brake Lever Boot, p.583 - Door Plate Location - Custom. As you can see, my numbering is 2 pages off from Red71cheyenne at this point. Can someone audit this? LMK & TIA.

Re: Assembly Manual Index
You are correct again. I don't know how it got off. If you have microsoft excel you can open the assembly manual link, then save it to your computer and you can edit your own copy. I just did it on my computer.

Re: Assembly Manual Index
It looks like it is messed up from there forward. It won.t allow you to change the original spreadsheet. Maybe some has password can go in and fix it.

Re: Assembly Manual Index
So does your manual numbering end at 1064 also? I thought I numbered mine wrong but it sounds like you match my numbering. I went into the Google doc this morning & pushed all of the remaining entries down 2 lines to correct it. I'll keep an eye on things as I continue. Thanks for checking your copy.

Re: Assembly Manual Index
OK, I changed it so only I can edit it.
What happened to the heading at the top to show what year/application it applies to? Originally it had each year, 2wd or 4wd, blazer, burb, pickup, 1/2ton, 3/4ton, etc which if you imported it to excel would allow you to filter it to your application. |

Re: Assembly Manual Index
You have to click on sheet one tab at the bottom of the spread sheet page that you downloaded. Any other sheet tab you click on shows blank sheets.

Re: Assembly Manual Index
I was pretty excited when I discovered some folks took the time to create an index for the assembly manual (many thanks!), but the bummed to find out my copy of the manual does not have page numbers!
Mine also has most part numbers removed, which sucks, but that's another story. In any event, am I alone in this or do other people number theirs by hand? That'll take some time. If there's a PDF version around, I'd be pleased if someone would PM me a link. I already bought the book, so I'm not trying to pirate it, just trying to be able to find stuff in it! At least with a PDF I could "jump" to page location instead of numbering all 1064 pages by hand... Thanks! Dave

Re: Assembly Manual Index
Never mind, I numbered them... all 1064 pages of it! Well, the odd ones anyway.
The reprints of these are sure bad... I have an Impala one that seems to be original or at least a lot older and its half-way organized, calls out most part numbers, and so on. I wonder if GM placed some restrictions or it was just a sloppy copy?

The CD version has a search feature to look stuff up. Makes it really easy and you can print pages from it.... Just a heads up for the lazy people like me... I applaud you guys for doing this though, quite an undertaking... LockDoc

Re: Assembly Manual Index
I purchased an assembly manual and see what everyone was stating about how it lacks an index.
I am getting an error message to the link and this spreadsheet for the assembly manual for 1967 to 1972 C10 trucks. Is there a new pathway link or do I need permission to gain access to the index that helps decipher the incomplete harcopy Manual. Thanks for any help and to you guys for updating an index. Sam |
