Re: 68 Quad Cab build
I ove the build you are doing. great concept and execution so far. especially the leaned windsheild and leaned back cab wall. i would like to see a complete side profile pic of it with the doors closed. What are you planning on using for the roof skin? the yukons? Many have built crewcabs, but yours it the first one i have seen done like this and the direction is second to none. Anyhow, welcome to the build section and i look very forward to the progress of your truck.
James.

Re: 68 Quad Cab build
its like my second job (the one that i enjoy) but we do build cars for people and our own of coarse (i work at an engineering firm as my true job) my dad has built cars for my entire life so that is where i picked up on it he tried to keep me away from it so i would go to school and get into a career that will make me a good living so i went into drafting and then ended up with my BS industrial design degree which i then inturn began focus on building cars so he did suceed in it sort of but now that is all i want to do is cars, it is a work in progress maybe one day it will be my only job.... but no the car end of things is more along a side hobby

Re: 68 Quad Cab build
How are you going to do the windows for the rear doors? It does'nt look like you could have a one piece roll-up glass with the front angle on the doors.
I do like the work and your ides so far. keep it up, she looks great.

Re: 68 Quad Cab build
actually a one piece roll-up glass works..... that was the tricky part on the back windows i had to take all sorts of distances and angles... then i drew it up in AutoCAD checking things then after that i had to model it in Solidworks a 3D modeling program and pretend to roll it up and down everything will work as long as i fab it the way i built it in the computer programs... that was one of my goals was to make it have a full window sooooo we will see thanks for all the comments this is great i like feedback

Re: 68 Quad Cab build
I really like lowered the best but i also like lifted customs soooo this project is going to be 4 wheel drive lifted due to it being my everyday driver i live in Idaho where we have good winters etc... if i lived somewhere that the weather was good all the time i would build it into a bagged dually, but the main plan was to get so i didn't have so many vehicles i have a 92 s10 that is lowered with a aluminum head 327 running 400 hp (not so good on the wet or snowy roads) a 96 honda civic full custom running 450 hp at the wheels (turbo, lowered etc...) not so good for winter, family car 99 honda accord (stock) (2) 2007 Ninjas (my wifes and mine) 95 yukon on 20's 70 chevy c10 that is 2wd and custom and also a 31 ford model A that will be a future project... and also my wife wants a 68 - 70 chevelle as her fun toy so vehicle wise i am planning to downsize... so this build will give me a truck i can drive all year if it is 4wd and i can sell my s10 and civic and the 31 will pay off my school loans sorry just realized that rattled on hope it wasn't to bad
