Re: What do yall think? 1972 Chevy Suburban
Nicely optioned 'Burb.Looks to be in amazing shape.Like LHM said not much rare but it sure is in great shape. It is a bit rare in that it is so heavily optioned and so nice. Most who ordered that many options also drove them a lot and wore them out.It looks like it must have been garaged most of it's life also.
You may want to check with some of the fine vendors on the BB for replacement seat cover. It may be cheaper to replace than repair. And the only people who will really appreciate that truck are the ones who like the stock look or those who actually know what you have.

Re: What do yall think? 1972 Chevy Suburban
Always good to see a survivor ... nicely optioned Burb with loots of good documentation. You don't see the original dealer optioned "Bug Guard" on these trucks very often.

Looks great! Why did it take you 5 years to find us?
I'm a little surprised you don't get more attention from it. I have had young woman say they like mine. Maybe its just the color. Yeah that has to be it.

Re: What do yall think? 1972 Chevy Suburban
that is a beautiful original truck....don't get crazy with mods, just enjoy it as it is! you could get a set of late model chevy 8 lug aluminum rims to run a different size tire, but those 16.5's are pretty cool....got them on my burb!

Beautiful 'burb. I would say it's extremely rare to see them that nice, especially on the East Coast. Thanks for sharing the pix.

Re: What do yall think? 1972 Chevy Suburban
Very nice suburban. I have one that is almost a twin to yours except mine has Deluxe interior, upper chrome trim, and no tilt wheel. Mine even has the 45 gallon dealer tank like yours. I thought mine was a cherry original but you just trumped me on all aspects. I am extremely jealous of all your original paperwork that you got. Mine came with the original owners manual, sales brochure, and smog pump brochure but that is it. You really lucked out getting old reciepts and other paper work as well. That type of stuff really adds to the value on all original vehicles like yours.
I hear you on the lack of love these great burbs get. I was so excited to take my suburban to its first cruise night and was shocked when it didn't even get a passing glance from anyone. Ironically the next week I took it again and it was swarmed by admirer's. One guy even has an all original swb fleetside factory big block truck and he was in total awe of the burb. So you never know when or where the love for your burb will come from but trust me it will come!

Well lets say the price was equally fair for me and the original owner. I have 0 regrets on the purchase and look forward to passing it down to my sons. Both of which are interest in these trucks. Re: What do yall think? 1972 Chevy Suburban
Man, that thing is beautiful!! It is a rolling time capsule. My Sub is nowhere near as aesthetically pleasing as yours, but I find it funny who some of the comments come from. People who do not come across as "car/truck-type" people are often the ones who make the comments about the truck, whereas in my case, the car/truck type people realize the sound from under the hood ain't right but say nothing about the truck itself.
Thanks for posting!!

402bigblocksub, I have a thread on it but I hate to bring it back from the dead again. Might make a new one if I can think of a justifyable reason to.

Re: What do yall think? 1972 Chevy Suburban
Nice piece of Burb History!!
They are only original once! I notice by your intake manifold A/C bracket that your burb had a smog pump. Please contact me if you would like more info on the BB smog systems. Very nice documentation by the way! |

Just Noticed!
Both Manual Throttle and Cruise-Master Cruise control with correct under-dash switch! Poor-Man's and Rich-Man's Cruise on the same vehicle! Nice!!!! |
