Re: 55-57 one piece windows
I will send out the template for the brothers kit, unless you ask for the one that we made up. The one we made is a little bigger at the top, that mades it fit better at the top. You just have to cut the side of your door under the latch (as seen in the video) to get the exrta room. IMO that's the best way, but alittle more fab work. Dad & I have thought about getting an old door and tape it start to finish. I know I wish someone would have for me.

Let me guess, the doors you want to volunteer just so happen to be the ones that go in your truck?

Re: 55-57 one piece windows
I would like the doors back when done.
How long would it take to do a pair of doors start to finish? I could come down and help if interested.

Re: 55-57 one piece windows
I tell you what, you can come down and your wife can christmas shop in the malls at Branson. I can get all the stuff. It will take about 3 weeks to get the glass. We can do it in around 4 hours or less. Let me know, I have to send the pattern out on a wednesday. but theres no hurry, you pick the day.

Re: 55-57 one piece windows
Ok folks, grimss and I are going to do this in 3-4 weeks. If you want to wait for the template until we make the video. I will send a copy of the dvd with it. If you think you've seen enough to get the job done. Shoot me a PM and I will get yours in the mail this week. brian

Re: 55-57 one piece windows
If we (or someone) can put it on the web, somewhere that would be great. Every time I try I have to down side it so much and it takes so long to down load, it's not worth watching. We got it done earliey grimss took some pix also, he should be home before long. He might be to tierd to post tonight though.

Re: 55-57 one piece windows
Just made it home. 4hrs I'm beat. I'll see how my pics turned out later. Had a great time. The process is pretty easy once you see what has to be done.

When cutting the area behind the latch, do you just cut a slot out to allow the track to push further towards the rear of the door? Do you have to modify the latch at all? You should start selling these kits, I would probably buy one. |
