Re: CTrow's Truck

Looking good. Personally I wouldnt change the TPI. I would maybe change the block out from a 305 to a 350, but I would leave the TPI especially being since all the electrical is already done. Those are good setups

Re: CTrow's Truck

At this point basically waiting on the painter to get done. Taking a lot longer than it should but what can you do, right?

I've been mocking up the engine, exhaust (nothing fancy), and have the fuel system mostly setup.

I had to clearance the motor mount to use these headers. I also wanted the tuck the exhaust up as much as possible.

Next steps, gathering parts for the engine, getting it repainted (silver), then getting it running. Hopefully by the time paint is done it will be just a matter of setting the body on and start putting on parts.

Re: CTrow's Truck

This is an awesome build with a great family history. I actually like the tweed door panels.....so if you want to get rid of them I am close and can take them off your hands. Your truck is looking great with the new wheels/tires.
I think your flat bed is a short wheel base one ton. Who is doing your paint? the fenders look great. keep the updates coming.

Jason Voth at Resurrection Paint. He's in Noble just at the turn off to Thunder Valley.

Thanks for the compliments

They are Patriot Clippster style. 3" primary's. Ordered them from JEGs.

I tried the Speedway Motors ram horn manifolds but there just wasn't enough room.

It's an older Air Ride Technology system I got off eBay. The valves are their standard 1/4" valve system. It has the digital display but it doesn't have any presets like on the newer versions.

I think mine might the the ProRide?

Re: CTrow's Truck

Really nice looking, can't wait to see it all in Black. I too love the flatbed truck, very cool tow rig. Those wheels are cool as a fan too, I want to do some wheels like that on mine once I get the rest of the truck done.

Very nice build, hope my rolling chassis turns out even 1/2 as nice as yours. Great job. Can't wait to see the finished product.

Re: CTrow's Truck

They say chrome won't get you home but it sure does look good!

Got the plenum back a week ago. Just waiting on the rest of the brackets. In the mean time going to get the motor/trans blasted and then painted. Will also do a run up on the engine stand to get it broken in.

Wouldn't have mattered anyway, truck is in Ada at my Dad's shop. But a visit would have been fine just as well. Maybe next time.

Re: CTrow's Truck

No real updates, still waiting on the painter. Story of my life it seems like. The new date is looking at April 1 before they are done with it.

Here's a couple of shots that I took last night after playing around with polishing aluminum.

It's my first time and I'm working through my mistakes. I think it will turn our nice though. The center of the gauge panel and glove box door will be painted some color. Either black or grey.

Re: CTrow's Truck

Ordered one gauge just to see what it will look like and to try to match paint colors. I dont want to buy the whole kit at this point.

Here's what I'm going with.
