Re: Post your orange trucks and cars
I am also on the hunt for the right orange. I'm repainting my 1980 K20 4x4 and am after more of a "burnt" orange color. My buddy had a mid 70's Chevy stepside that from memory was the perfect color. I was at the paint store today looking at the Dupont charts. The only year they had that far back was 1977 and the truck color was Tangier orange. Seemed a bit bright. I have been scrubbing the net to try to find that color!

Here's my Blazer. I can't seem to find a picture of my old Orange 72 Challenger RT before I painted it.

Re: Post your orange trucks and cars
Heads up...found Atomic Orange in a single stage urethane today for 176.50/gal. at my local paint shop. It's Dupont Nason Ful-thane 780347. Not a show finish, but will work for me on my K20 driver.

Re: Post your orange trucks and cars
Here's my '67 stepper. Modified Lamborghini California Orange Pearl BC/CC. About $160 a quart the way I had it mixed. Beautiful color! I get more complements on the color than anything. Wouldn't change a thing.

Re: Post your orange trucks and cars
Anyone shoot that Atomic Orange? I'm about 2 weeks away from shooting it on my '80 K2500. I have some questions (like coverage)

Re: Post your orange trucks and cars
I really like the reddish orange that came on these trucks. The color on my 68 was referenced from the original factory paint code (I never did find out the name but my painter knew the color I wanted). I found a chart that calls it Red Orange... Maybe someone that knows more about this can chime in.
Here it is after it was painted.
