Re: 1986 GMC Sierra Classic LWB build
Yeah, I'm not risking scratching these up. Aluminum is easy enough to mess up anyway.

Re: 1986 GMC Sierra Classic LWB build
So the water pump decided to go bad. The block is from a 92, so we got a 92 water pump. And the 86 brackets don't go with a 92 water pump. And a 92 pump is for a serp setup. So now I gotta go to the junkyard and go raid some 90's trucks and get the whole serpentine setup off the front of a motor. Which is fine I guess since I wanted a 6 groove setup anyway so I could get a better alternator from DC Power Inc.

Damn!!! Your truck is looking sharper every time that I look at it. BTW, you never did show me what you did to the grille that was on it before the billet one.

Re: 1986 GMC Sierra Classic LWB build
Ahh I forgot to take pics of it, when I get back to the shop I'll snap a few pics of it. I never finished it, but I can show you the progress I made on it and you can pretty much figure out where I was going with it.

Re: 1986 GMC Sierra Classic LWB build
Cool. Would you mind if I make a suggestion for some exhaust tips?

Re: 1986 GMC Sierra Classic LWB build
Please do. I haven't decided what I want to do with 'em, that's why I left the pipes long like they are so I have enough to work with when I buy some tips.

Re: 1986 GMC Sierra Classic LWB build
I think it would look good a pair of megaphones sticking out the back.

Re: 1986 GMC Sierra Classic LWB build
They're the ones in this picture. They're really common on Challenger T/A's and Plymouth Cuda AAR's.

Re: 1986 GMC Sierra Classic LWB build
Or you could get ones like mine has. Mine have the rolled lip. I want to get another set of them for the loudest truck contest and stretch a piece of piano wire inside of them.

Here's the best ones I have so far that show the tips.
One with the tips from when it still had the topper on it.

Re: 1986 GMC Sierra Classic LWB build
Got my Grant wheel installed
Tach I installed a while back I know my door jams aren't painted, yet. That's on the way. Those "buddy" paint job deals.. Last edited by qu1cks1lver56; 01-24-2010 at 10:39 PM. |

Re: 1986 GMC Sierra Classic LWB build
I envy you. You have fully working gas gauge. How hard was the grant wheel to install? I've been looking at the chrome 3 spoker at AutoZone and wanted to know how hard they are to install?

The wheel was pretty easy to install, need a puller, some sockets, and some patience. Thanks! |
