Will that trick work for both open diff, LSD and spool setups? Durring the inspection I was told the tranfer case fluid looked pretty clean and it was good for level but I honestly haven't checked it personally since... Is the 4spd trany supposed to use gear oil or ATF? Currently there's gear oil, but with no owners manual and being new to a standard, I wasn't sure if this was the recomended type... |

It will work with an open diff, spool or anything. Just make sure you mark the tire that spins if it is an open diff. The 4 sp box should have gear oil in it. Only the 208 ( transfer case ) will have ATF.

Im guessing that the gears haven't been checked. For the record there should be numbers stamped on the ring gear. if you have numbers like 41 - 11 you would divide the big number by the small and come up with 3.73s
