what's the hurry? I understand your 5x5 wheel frustration. This is why most people go with a "custom" billet wheel. Most companies like American Racing (their custom shop), Billet Specialties, Intro, Budnik, Bonspeed, Coddington Wheels, B.A.D., etc,... just build to order. Billet Specialties, for one,... offers more affordable lines. I suggest that you order what fits. Without the custom offsets,... the track width of the stock front suspension,... makes the ability to use the same wheel, and offset , front and rear,... look goofy. (personal opinion) Spacers will bring the rear wheels out,... so that's an option. Do some measuring.

Not to sound like an ass...
but way back in the beginning before you got the z done. Alot of us suggested the dropmember, and the benefits of the narrowed track width...u went ahead with the z anyway. Now just think about the amount of $ you spent on the front suspension already, and the $ you are about to spend on the narrowed control arms...Dropmember would have paid for itself Now..I understand the Z is already done and its too late for the Dropmember, BUT... The moral of the story is: There is alot of useful information on this site, that can save you alot of time,$, and frustration. WHen these guys offer advice you should at least consider it A custom built set of wheels will be well worth the extra $ There is no doubt in my mind that JJ can narrow the control arms and make the wheels tuck, but will there be any adverse effects?? i guess you will just have to find out....if you are dead set on a 24 Last edited by bagged74; 12-18-2009 at 11:35 PM. |

Re: Need help!
He would have to narrow the steering linkage aswell to be able to align the front end. I say KEEP the 24's and make them tuck! Go BIG or go home right? I didnt realize the truck was Z'd if the guy did a Z correctly he should have no problems narrowing the front control arms and steering. Here is a pic of the steering from IFCUSTOMS. And a pic of a board member LAYED on 24's also Z'd Good luck and keep the pics and progress coming!

Re: Need help!
A DM was never in my budget, never will be. I'd like nothing more than to have one on those bad ass members on this truck but in all reality, never gonna happen in this life, and I've come to deal with this.
Now back to MY options again lol. Anymore info on this silver and red C-10 Z'ed on 24's? No more DM talk, I fully understand it's best but unless they take IOU's I'm out. No $1000 a wheel specially designed wheels, is so I'm out unless they take IOU's lol. |

Re: Need help!
This may be a little 'off the wall', but is there enough meat on the hub surface of the rims to have some material machined off to change the backspacing? Looks like 1/2 inch would be enough....Never done this, or heard of it done, so maybe its bad JuJu, but maybe a wheel engineer can tell you?

Re: Need help!
After reading through this thread, I see a couple options:
Narrowed arms Pros: you can get the one inch you need. Cons: The arms will most likely be around $1000, and then you will need to modify the tie-rod end length as well, and the results of narrowed arms will exaggerate your camber curve, and steering arcs. Switch bolt pattern Pros: you migth be able to find the wheel you want with the proper offset in a 6 lug or 5 x 4.75 bolt-pattern Cons: spending the cash on new rotors and possible machining on rear axles.

Way too easy to buy the right parts to do it. That wouldn't be an exercise in difficulty...lol

I can't do head math on bs but the 22x10 I tried with the large 265/35 was 6.29bs and it fit great! If the shop was correct on the bs. If the other wheel I liked was 22/24 the 22 being 9.5in and 5.75bs. If it'll work I'll take it and if I get crazy and have cash to blow to go big then I'll buy the 24 for the front. |

Re: Need help!
So probably a 22/24 combo? If my only option right now is wheels I can buy from a wheel dealer here in town and make payments on the wheels. My only option I found in a wheel I like was 22x9.5, 5.752bs. I'd go smaller than the 265/35/22. If that would come out to be 1in further in then I'd do those wheels. I wanna do it right and don't want to cut up anything but the things in the way like the firewall.

Re: Need help!
24x10 w/ 6.91 bs
22x9.5 w/ 5.752 bs (same as a 10" rim with 6.252 bs) Not gonna work. Break out the tape measure and calculator.

Re: Need help!
Your on a small budget w/big dreams.Nothin wrong w/that but you have to build the chassis w/the wheel/tire dimensions in mind.
Trimming the inner skin would give you quite a bit of room from 0-2"s ride height. Last edited by Inverter; 12-19-2009 at 07:30 PM. |

Re: Need help!
This truck was built on a somewhat small budget, that's correct but at the same time it was built correct. I'm more of a build that was built for a 32in tire in back but the bs was never decided. I hate math and hate measuring for this stuff but I have my measurements for a wheel that fits but can't find anyhing.

Re: Need help!
I guess I misunderstood.
I thought the 24x10's that didn't fit had a 6.91 bs. A 10" rim with a 6.29 bs is the same as an 8" rim with a 4.29 bs. To me,... that doesn't sound like enough backspacing. Good luck with your wheel search. Keep us posted.

Re: Need help!
The one that didn't fit was 5.91 on a 10in wheel. My 20x8.5's were 5.106bs and they were like a car bs and sunk way back in.
