Re: Side mirror law in TX?

In ohio, you need the front plate with regular plates, or historical plates. However, if you have historical, and you get year of manufactur plates, then you only need the rear one.
However, I discovered the local officers didn't know this and used it as an excuse to pull me over. This was a double whammy since you are not supposed to be driving with historical plate except to or from shows, club functions, parades, or for maintenance reasons. That is over looked 99% of the time in 99% of the places here, but can still be enforced when ever wanted... and when you "show up" an officer who pulls you over for no front plate, that's a good time for them to enforce something.
I now have the front plate mounted, and have since been left alone.

Re: Side mirror law in TX?

i wouldnt test not running a front plate whether its classic or not. not all cops or dps is gonna know the specifications anyways. i got pulled over in my old s10 without a front plate. if you got no problem with them pulling you over just to check out stuff, then by all means take it off if you want. a mirror is less attractive then a front plate missing.
