Re: You gotta drive it all out!!

I'll sum up this cat fight for you people.

If you pay the maintenance and bills for a vehicle. Do what you want with it. God knows we all do. Some baby their stuff, others beat them to heck. So, who cares. You may think what he was doing is stupid, you may think it was awesome. Who cares. Just dont call other peoples activities stupid(not that you did).

There!

Mk, heres my comment. He'll need a tranny, and tcase, and head gaskets, and frame, and more driveline parts. Oh, and a toolbox!

Actually mine is a daily driver too but I still take it muddin. I've broken both front axles at different times and snapped the tranny yoke and front u-joint in half once too. Had to drive it home in 4wd on the fronts. I built the engine for muddin but I'm not opposed to sucking the headlights out of a rice burner if need be.

Nice video Travis! Not something I would do in my truck, but defintely fun to watch. I especially liked the comment in the beginning. "Yeah I'm videoing it." I think they thought he was done in that first hole. Guess he got the last laugh.

Should have a title like " Look how ridiculously god damn tough chevy trucks are!" Or maybe "Bet you ford would have blown up!" or, "Chevy F'ing tough!"
Your welcome and actually the title read "balls out" but someone felt that was inappropriate I guess.

Thx for the clarification brother. I thought sucking out headlights was universal terminology in the Chevy world.

Actually the first time I watched the video, I was pretty sure he was done in the first hole too! That's why I brought it here. Dude freakin made it out.

The thing about mudholes is someone else will always try it in his Dodge or Jeep or Ford and be danged if you want to let up and get stuck somewhere one of those guys drove through. Once you commit to a hill or hole, you have to flog the heck out of it and do your best to make it. You don't build one of these ($$$$) to have everyone tell you that you got stuck where they drove through, and the ribbing will be even worse if they pulled you out.

The 73-87 is a great mudder platform, and thanks to inherent rust problems in earlier models, it's an EXCELLENT mudder platform.

I gave it up because I couldn't afford parts anymore. But in a mudder crowd that ain't abuse, it's normal.
Right on brothers!

Now hold on a minute. The buzzkill came from the posts directly after mine. I wasn't even referring to you. However, I get the impression that you're accusing "me" of not posting in a "positive manner" is that right? Basically you're saying I had no right to be upset that people called the video I posted "F@#$@n STUPID"? You mean THEY were posting in a positive manner?

Yeah, I need to scoot on out of this bar and get back to people who think like I do. Get in where ya fit in right?

Big difference between driving smart and being an Idiot, that guy crossed the line. Abusing your vehicle is like masturbating in public, Just cause you can doesn't mean you should. He didn't tear anything up cause his ass got lucky.

Nice video!!

If I break something, I can fix it!! Why build something if you not going to drive it like you stole it! My truck is a street truck and tire killer. Anything else is uncivilized!

That's the way I feel about it.

A friend bought a very nice 68 Corvette with a stout 383 and Richmond 6-speed almost three years ago. The original 327/4-speed are sitting in his shop but the 383 is out now for the third rebuild of the bottom end. He drives it like he stole it.

If it's a toy, it's meant to be played with!

Re: You gotta drive it all out!!

that was one of the best 73-91 youtube videos I have seen yet and I've seen just about all of them (literally). don't let all these guys that can't handle the term "balls out" that think their pussy thing they call a truck (shortbed 1cm off the ground with rubberbands as tires with perfect little paint jobs so it can sit on the pavement for people to ooooh and aahhh over) tell you that that wasn't some serious driving with a badass truck

sad to see those are the kind of responses you get on a forum like this. and it wasn't even your video to boot... you were just trying to share the 4x4 mood it put you in on a forum loaded with people that love these trucks specifically

and one more thing: like you, my daily driver and only vehicle is the very same truck that i use for my versions of that video. that doesn't mean i don't love it to death and don't take just as good care of it

Re: You gotta drive it all out!!

I tried to leave the thread open, really I did. With my good intentions, I only managed to prolong the pain.

I quoted some members to make a point, but I also requested that "everyone" post nicely.

Since that request was ignored, the thread is dead.
