Re: Parallel Double Park It Sideways
I'm actually thinking about painting it now since I have access to a spray booth. Two tone silver on top just how it is now and the stock color on the bottom. We'll see.

I say go for it
That body is so clean and straight, it's almost a shame not to.

Re: Parallel Double Park It Sideways
That's what I'm thinking. It'll only need a few hours of body work and increase it's value quite a bit.

Re: Parallel Double Park It Sideways
Ordered some parts for the 'scayne! I'm seriously considering selling the '97 S10 and using some of that cash to make this the daily driving car. Any opinions on this?

Re: Parallel Double Park It Sideways
Add some 3 point belts and a 5spd, why not?
But you know you're really the only one who can answer that. Can you afford the fuel cost if gas goes to $3-4/gal or will you wish you had the S-10 back? How bad would you feel if the car got totaled during rush hour? I know wrecks can happen anytime, but the typical to and from work times seem to have the highest number of incidents. Can you get it insured as a DD with comprehensive coverage?

Re: Parallel Double Park It Sideways
Insurance is good on it, definately want to do a manual trans and seat belts. If I do the S10 I'll be looking into a fuel injected engine like a 5.3 or even the new GM inline sixes.
If it gets totaled I'd just find something else, not like I haven't been there before. We shall see! |

Re: Parallel Double Park It Sideways
Went for a cruise up to the Taco Wagon! I'm the one in red. New floors will be installed next week. By the way, I'm parallel double parked in front of the Taco Wagon, sideways.

Re: Parallel Double Park It Sideways
Man, just too damn cool.
It's awesome to have a big ol' boat, pile some friends in (scratch that, a lot of friends in) and just go have a blast. It's just a really neat old car, that youre not afraid to drive and have fun in. The best kind, in my opinion. -Sam.

Not sure yet, I'll have to see if someone wants to drive it because I'll most likely take the '67 C10.

Re: Parallel Double Park It Sideways
Next time we go cruising I'll be sure and get some pics of route 66, It's only a mile from my house. Good eye on the seat covers, old bed sheets do the trick just fine. I might just ziptie them to the seat frames and call it good!
