I was thinking about something similar....maybe continue the look all the way to the fender. It wouldn't really serve any purpose, but it might look good.

Yeah, I think you guys are right. That would look good. Maybe I can work on that when I get a little caught up around the shop.

The aluminum radiator in my blue truck is the same size as a standard V8 radiator. I'm planning to build covers for both the standard size and the Heavy Duty V8 radiators. The HD radiator is thicker. The way to tell what radiator you have is to measure the stock upper brackets. The standard radiator brackets are approximately 5 1/2" long and the HD brackets are approximately 6 1/4" long. See attached pics. The silver one is for standard radiator and the black one is HD

I'll have pricing very soon.

Re: Custom radiator cover upper support

Pricing and availability

This is what everyone's been waiting for. I appreciate everyones patience.
I have the full covers ready. Here is the reduced pricing.

1. Full Cover with standard V8 radiator $145 (this is what is on my blue truck)
2. Full Cover with HD V8 radiator $145
3. Full Cover with standard V8 radiator no holes $115
4. Full Cover with HD V8 radiator no holes $115

The partial covers are styled just like the Full Cover, but are shorter so that they fit between the stock mounts and are designed to work with the stock fan shroud.

I will work on the partial covers later. Let me know if you want one and I will get to work on it.

I am now accepting orders through my website at http://www.hotroddynamics.com/Products.html
Use the drop down box to select which version you want and then hit the Add to Cart button. You will be transferred to PayPal to complete your checkout.

Again I want to thank everyone for you support and feedback and if you have any questions please email or PM me.

Joe

Re: Custom radiator cover upper support

OK I dropped the price by $50. See new pricing.

The one in the shop truck is now finished. I added a piece of aluminum grill material for a backdrop 3D effect.

Can you show the under side of the finished product to show it's constructed and how the mesh attaches to the piece?

Re: Custom radiator cover upper support

I'd need the Full Cover with HD V8 radiator $145. What shipping would you offer to Nova Scotia Canada? USPS priority post is usually the cheapest and easiest at this end.

Re: Custom radiator cover upper support

I'm in the same boat with Hart Rod. I have an entropy tech radiator and the 4 core brackets don't seem to fit right. I am running a couple different scenarios on how to install this thing. It looks like you may have used an Entropy radiator also???

Thanks,

JE

Re: Custom radiator cover upper support

Now that I looked at the pic again, it's not an Entropy.

Do you have any underside pics of your radiator hold down?

Thanks,

JE

Re: Custom radiator cover upper support

I just installed an Entropy radiator and have the smaller 3 core brackets. It fits tight and holds very well, but the bottom brackets had to be popped out, moved in a bit and re-rivetted in both spots. The driver side upper mount came over to the center a bit with the right screw hole using what was the left mounting hole and redrilling a new hole for the left hole of the bracket. I then used the same bolt, but put a nut on it to tighten it down. The passenger side bracket remained in it's original spot but I had to remove some of the bracket at the filler neck area...This was all with the radiator dead in the middle, where it should be.

Moral of the story is, this bracket, as fashioned, would probably not work with the 67-72 Entropy and you would need to send Joe your dimensions and have one custom made. Just buying this as is there are definetly a few tweaks that you would need to do to it once you shelled out the $145 - and that's no fun!

These are the only pictures I have online right now of my radiator and I am at work(can't go out and take better ones), but you can see that it does fit well with the smaller brackets moved around a bit...and could really use one of Joe's covers!..

Re: Custom radiator cover upper support

The radiator I'm using is a Champion radiator. http://championcooling.com/
It uses the 3 core upper brackets but was a snug fit. It looks to me like you could use the cover on the entropy radiator. Could someone give me the thickness of the tank where the rubber positions? If it will fit in the rubber, it should fit in the cover...

I attached the mesh with SEM door skin panel adhesive. You can get it at NAPA or auto body suppliers. It's a 2 part epoxy. Pretty simple.

This view doesn't show the sides very well, but the stock rubber pads fit against the side panels of the cover and just glue in place with weatherstrip adhesive. Once mounted in the truck they really can't move anyway.

Re: Custom radiator cover upper support

Factory the rads sit in the lower mount support brackets by the tank flanges and the upper brackets are suppose to go over the tank flange portion as well. It looks like you have yours holding the core. Is it because you didnt have the longer upper and lower brackets available? If you had used the longer stock 4core support brackets over the tank flanges I think it would have been a drop fit. I'm curious beceause I'm about to oreder the entropytec rad and tony said there were no fittment issues other than changing the size of the brackets if your truck wasn't origionally a 4 core, not bracket location. All the aluminum tanks are the size of the older 4 core rads.

Re: Custom radiator cover upper support

Could someone please post the width of the entropy radiator tanks where the mount goes (front to back) and the distance between the tanks?
Thanks

My Champion radiator fit the stock 3 core brackets just fine. The rubber went over the weld beads on the tank where the flange would be on a stock radiator.

Re: Custom radiator cover upper support

Yes I did support mine at the core, not the edges of the flanges. The small supports work great if you do this.

Here are the photos with measurements...

Stock mounting points on passenger side of truck

Moved support over one hole and drilled new

From flange point...

To flange point

Flange is slightly different on passenger side than..

Driver side, and I think the bracket would have to cater to the hose right there being so high...

Let me know what other measurements you need!!

Re: Custom radiator cover upper support

Beastcoster, thanks for the pics!
From what I can tell from your measurements, it looks like the HD cover would work well with the entropy radiator in the stock location. You would need to use the 4 core rubbers or just cut some rubber strips to use from a piece of around 1/4" thick sheet. Only mod it appears you would need to make would be to grind some material off the DS rear corner of the cover just to clear the upper hose. No big deal.
