Re: Wtb: 72 tissue holder and fire extinguisher

hey don't get me wrong they are very very rare.....and rare to us
truck people because they were sold and used by car people mostly
of that era.... I bought 2 last week NOS Black in the box for
under $250.00 each shipped so they are out there you just gotta dig....

Re: Wtb: 72 tissue holder and fire extinguisher

I value my tissue box at $300-350.That is based on all my experience as well as consulting with other experts. They are rarer than consoles.I just saw the offer to trade and it motivated me.I`m looking for an even trade or I`ll sit tight.I`ve seen both these things go for less. They can also sell for more.I have other rear hooks. But,I have two 4wds and thought I could use these more.I had to sell the`72 K/20 Cheyenne Super Custom Camper I had put a complete primo interior together for.
The car guys will pay dearly for many parts that crossover to trucks. For instance, cargo lights are also`69 Camaro reverse lights and they go for way more sold as such.

Re: Wtb: 72 tissue holder and fire extinguisher

For the record, I believe the car ones are cheaper in my book than GM ones. Cars got Chevy bowtie ones, Oldsmobile got their logo, and Buick cars got the Buick symbol. Very rarely do you find the GM ones which I still think are correct for GMC/Chevy Trucks, though I bet you could have easily got a bowtie one in a Chevy Truck much like bowtie 8 track players that have been recorded as coming from the dealer. They didn't make nameplates for GMC's on anything accessory wise like tissue dispensers and 8 tracks and thus I think that's why you see GM emblems. That is just my opinion as I was not even close to being around when these trucks were new, but just piling up recollections from over the years on the board and previous discussions on these topics over the years. Re: Wtb: 72 tissue holder and fire extinguisher

There was also a NOS Black bowtie one on ebay for about a month or longer sitting at BIN for $150. I have 4x4's which would be a little congested for one of these or I would have probably had bought that one. The guy with the $475 bowtie unit has been sitting on that one for atleast 6 months that I know of. I would guess there would be a big difference in number of production between the GM version and bowtie version is really all I am saying which leads me to believe a GM version is worth more than a bowtie version. Re: Wtb: 72 tissue holder and fire extinguisher

Ok then...$600-700!!.I`ve always believed this to be a truck accessory, based on the expert I got it from,as well as discussions over the 20 or more years I`ve had this one.All Chevy cars I`ve seen had bowties and all the truck accessories I`ve seen were GM branded.Even factory radios were, right?
I`ve never gone by Ebay prices.I`ve seen ridiculously low and ridiculously high on everything and anything...it`s an auction, after all. And,all it takes is a seller or a buyer who doesn`t know their stuff to sway it to one extreme or the other. There`s life outside of Ebay and that`s where the experts are and have been since years and decades before PCs.
