Re: '49 chevy with s-10

I love this truck!!! I was doing a Google search one day for truck projects and I saw some images of it and it has been my background for months now. The stance on the truck is awesome can you tell me a little more about it?

Thanks

Chris

Thanks for nice words!! The truck belonged to my wife's grand paw and then her dad got it. I always liked this year truck and after her dad past away i bought the truck from her brother so i could have a new project and to keep it in the family. I originally thought this would be a quick projectbut we all know how that goes. As for the truck i have a new 350 with a 700r4 going to a narrowed 9 inch with disc brakes and a 4 link on air bags. In the front i have 13" cross drilled rotors and 2 inch drop spindles with air bags. The truck sits on 20x8 billet specialties in the front and 20x10 billet specialties in the rear. I have been working on it in my spare time for a couple years and just need to find the time to install all the parts that i have for it.

Got any shots of your engine mounts? I'm getting ready to put my 350 in and I need some ideas on where to put it and how to mount it.

The s10 i used had a 4.3 in it and the factory motor mounts are going to work for me. With it all mocked up there is around an inch between the passenger side firewall and the valve cover. I will try to post some pics, been working on the 4-link.

So you used the v8 conversion mounts with the 4.3 mounts. I saw a picture you posted of the conversion mounts, I was just wondering if you used them or not.

I was going to use those mounts but after i got everything mocked up i dont need to. I have seen where alot of people have made motor mounts and moved the motor but mine is real close (about an inch on the passenger side and a little more on the driver side to the firewall) Its kinda funny you mention the mounts because i have them on ebay for sale.

Re: '49 chevy with s-10

I might have to put mine on there too Nice picture. Such a deal at $30. I felt like bidding. So what mounts did you use to mount your 350?

What size and make tires are you running? I like the amount of side wall.

Looking good.

Re: '49 chevy with s-10

another quick question... how low is your cab mounted to your frame? looking at that, if the back is layed out on the runningboards, your cab would probably be almost flush with the framerails....?
