Weld it up man, that's not to bad, not worth looking for a different cab, c'mon give me a break...new cab. That's a 5 minute job even for a beginner welder, just grind her smooth and cut a NICE hole for your new deck! Then laugh about all the money your saving by not buying a new cab. No offense to anyone! Not trying to be an a$$.

Good Luck Locutus

If it was just the dash I wouldn't even consider a new cab (see http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...threadid=40304) There is major rust under the dash. Those pictures show only the passenger side, its the same deal on the driver side. That coupled with the dash issues I am really considering a new cab. How much on average does a cab go for anyway?

Smile Radio Fix

I would suggest trying to find a dash in the junk yard, cut out the radio area and weld it in your cab. It should turn out just fine.

I just realized that you don't need to cut one out, just find a cab that you can use to make a template, then get some metal (Home Depot, for about 6 bucks) and make your own panel using your own template. You may even surprise yourself.

Hey, Im cutting out the dash on my 67, let me know if you want it. You pay shipping and whatever you feel would be fair on price. After all, gotta pay for saw-zal blades.

An aftermarket stereo install kit probably would'nt cover that hole or mount up properly, which woud leave your stereo pretty much easy pickin's for a thief. I'd suggest a donor panel. or at least welding in a blank and cutting a more head unit sized hole.

Brushed Aluminum Plate. Actually, it looks like you have enough room there for an in dash 6 disc changer!
