Re: T5 Swap Done.
Another good bit of information! I was thinking the only way to get an OD transmission with a mechanical clutch was with a FY6.

Yes they make a converter to go from a mechanical speedo to an electronic transmission, but it is very expensive. Here's one for your reference at $320: http://www.drivetrain.com/parts_cata...ct_speedo.html With the cost of the converter, it would be easier to find a T5 with a mechanical speedo hook up from the mid 80's. Re: T5 Swap Done.
Cool man, nice job, I can imagine the T5 makes the 6 banger fun and econmoical. I might locate one this year and do that next winter, it looks to be a pretty straight forward swap.

If you haven't seen it yet, this is one of the best write-ups on the t-5 that I've seen....

Re: T5 Swap Done.
schwinn68- I did an NV3500 swap into my 63 C10 with a 292. it was fairly simple to mount the clutch master cylinder on the firewall, and it is nice having a smooth hydralic clutch. here is the link to my installation http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...=407167&page=2
Looks like your tranny swap was a success! it makes it much more fun to drive getting to grab two more gears! Sailed2Japan- are you on a landcruiser forum also? like ih8mud?
