I hear you there. My 4-year old daughter loves the brown truck (78 K20). She would be heart broken if I sold it.

Re: thos who dont want to sell..

I like to restore more than I do stare at it sitting in the garage after it's finished. I enjoy the build. If I build it and some one wants to buy it for what it's worth (not what i think it should be worth) then I'd more than likely sell it and start on a new one.

I tend to sell them after I get the drivetrain done so I can avoid doing body work.

One of these days I will buy a rig that doesn't need paint.

Re: thos who dont want to sell..

People ask about my stuff all the time, I just tell them it's not for sale. Every now and again, I get someone that says "everything is for sale". My response is usually "we'll see". It usually gets the point across.

Yeah but I bet if someone laid out $30k cash money you would have already forgot about your truck. Being partial is one thing, being insane is another

Everything has its price but sometimes the price would have to be extraordinary to make up for the sentimental attachment.

Sure there are ultra rare vehicles with heritage that make them irreplacable but typically we are not dealing with that.

After all it is just a car / truck and they can be replaced.

Re: thos who dont want to sell..

I always say its not for sale... and if you really want it you will have to "pry it from my cold dead fingers" lol. I had a guy offer 6000, and another guy offered his mid to late 70's camaro. It was a back yard job/micky mouse job. I proceeded to tell him that he would have to pry it from my cold dead fingers.

Saying "we'll see" tends to weed out the ones that are all talk. I recently had a guy offer me $6000 cash for my lowly '86 Iroc-z, he's one of the few that have gotten past the "we'll see". I still said no, lol.
