Re: Been going to car shows
The guy was just being dumb and trying to make you feel bad, you really dont see to many GMC trucks of the erra around anymore which is a shame i think they look cool and your truck is very sharp i like the blue with the dark tint and im personaly not into the bigger rims(i dont mind them and when done right can look very cool but would never buy them)but if you like them thats all that matters. You have a very nice truck and just ignore people like that, he probably drives a riced out 89 honda civic an lives in his mothers basement.

Re: Been going to car shows
Truck looks good nothing to get upset about.....Like mentioned there is an ass for every seat and some people are just not going to like your choices.
Do what makes you happy On the flip side I went to a show this weekend and had alot of people come and look at my truck and take pictures. It seemed to be the elder crowd that enjoyed the stance and wheels (I don't...lol) and talk about how they had one in the old days. I chatted with several old timers that said the truck was perfect and didn't have the heart to tell them I am going to dump it and throw on modern big wheels....lol Theres an ass for every seat

Re: Been going to car shows
Opinions are like a$$holes, everybody has one.
Your truck looks awsome. I actually like the stance of your truck with the big wheels, thats the kind of stance i am going for. Check out the newer chevy/gmc trucks that come with 20"s from the factory. they look pretty bad a$$. |

Re: Been going to car shows
You get two types of people at a show, people who appreciate the time and detail you taken with your vehicle and those who wish they had something but a)lack motivation or b) ability. With that said, in order for those people in the second group to feel better for their inabilities they feel it ness. for them to run down what you have accomplished.
Car shows draw lots of people unfortnately you only heard the negative- ignorant people tend to be really loud, and easy to hear- it is a distraction technique they use to redirect the focus off of them. People with positive things tend to be quiet and look, appreciate and go on. Dont worry about the ignorant people they dont matter. As long as you are happy who cares? Drive it, have fun and appreciate the fact that you have accomplished more already than the nay-sayers will in a life time. Nice truck, keep it up.

I am on board with cdowns on this one...the folks who can relate to these trucks will relate to Ralley Wheels, Cragers, Slots, and TT II's before they will connect to the 20-22" wheels. It's about taste and beeing able to connect. All in all ...you my friend have a very nice lookin truck!!

Re: Been going to car shows
I have to agree with everyone else, you have a very nice truck!! I definitely would roll with your ride.
I think you were probably just caught off gaurd from such callous remarks from a total stranger. You should have asked him what kinda of righteous ride he rolls in!! Like everyone else says, you can't please everyone. Opinions are like bellybuttons, everyone got one. Keith |

Re: Been going to car shows
You must be young, Because I guarantee nobody would talk stupid crap like that to anybody I know. I think your truck is cool and even if I didn't I wouldn't tell you, unless you were a friend, then it's all fair game. You should told him to F-Off.

Re: Been going to car shows
Exactly, i would think if someone didn't truly like my truck they would tell me, or they wouldn't say "nice truck" and not mean it?

Re: Been going to car shows
You should have keeped an eye out to see what he was driving. Probably a rusted out ford. Your truck looks great. To be honest I have never been a fan of the GMC in these years until I got on this site. Yours and a few other ones on here have made me start looking at them in a difrent light. I actually woudnt mind having one now.

Re: Been going to car shows
It's a nice truck. I agree with everyone else that it's probably the wheels turning people off. That being said I plan on 20's or 20's/22's on my truck as well...

Re: Been going to car shows
You said a show "yesterday"... Were you at Brothers' yesterday? I do not remember seeing your truck there.
If he told you that, I can guarantee you he doesn't own one. You should have asked him. He would have either said "no", or "it's at home in the garage" Either way you can point at him and laugh. |
