Re: My GMC Sierra Grande: Project GOLDIE
I changed my diff on my '85 from a worn out 3:08 to a 12 bolt 3:40 out of a Big10 I think it was a '78. It's quiet and really zipped the power up but now I need a 700R4 instead of the TH350 to keep the RPM reasonable on the highway. It is indeed a 3:40, I checked it several times, counted the teeth etc. They were made stock by Chev.

Re: My GMC Sierra Grande: Project GOLDIE
i knew my diff assembly wasnt the gmc original, i just had no idea what it came out of.. then when rebuilding it I found the 3.40 gears... probably from a earlier chevy model i thought, and you seem to be confirming that lol

Re: My GMC Sierra Grande: Project GOLDIE
See if you can find a product called Zep-Alum it will clean those wheels with alittle scrubbing and make them look brand new.

Re: My GMC Sierra Grande: Project GOLDIE
I already started cleaning them up.. they were pretty bad,,, but with a little elbow grease, metal brushes, some sandpaper and mag polish they came out not to bad.. iam just polishing the lip and top of spokes because the inner spokes is just to much work to get too... iam thinking about either leaving it rough, or painting them, i havent decided yet ..... ill have some pics up soon.

I have the exact same rims on my '79. I use Eagle One Nevr-Dull, it seems to work pretty good. Just rub it on real good (it doesnt take much) and polish it up with a real fine steel wool. Does the trick for me at least. One of these days I'm gonna paint em, just havent got around to it yet, lol. Sweet truck man, lookin good!

Re: My GMC Sierra Grande: Project GOLDIE
Nice truck. Do you have the part # for those headers? They look great, do they hang below the frame much?
