Re: 7 Hours till pick up
Well since everyone needs pictures to keep them going I will do a mini build thread here until I can get the final pics up.
Sorry if the pics come out large. Here is the original truck 1971 GMC LWB 292 4 speed power steering truck not a lot of extras. This was a 74,000 mile truck that my wifes grandfather used for his landscaping business for 30 years. She took alot of abuse over the years and the bumpers could pull down trees or drive thru a house, been tested on both. [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] [IMG][/IMG] |

Re: 7 Hours till pick up
I then added a second vehicle into this product when Teeitup found the stash of neglected trucks a few years ago. This one was a base 67 Chevy base model that had caught on fire and left for death in a field for many moons. The pics make it look 1000 time better than she did. I instantly had a name for this truck good old number 8.

Re: 7 Hours till pick up
6 months later we have the starting of the final version of the truck coming together. This was all that was able to be salvaged of the 67. This was the first load back from the blaster and the bed is primed and the frame is painted and the new suspension parts added.

Now we are at just over 1 year into the process and she has already had the inside painted and the body is ready for some color to be added.

Re: 7 Hours till pick up
One more update for tonight the beer is starting to catch up with me. This is after the first time it was painted. The color was off of a 2004 Corvette and looked ok but about 6 months later someone in the shop damaged the front qtr and the whole thing had to be stripped again and reshot so much fun.

Re: 7 Hours till pick up
Man, what a drag! Patience is a virtue but having your truck is priceless! I look forward to seeing pics on Monday.
A side note... I bought my first '70 swb fleetside project last week but it's in Georgia so I have to wait until I can get a couple of free days before I can go and get it. I'm sure it's no peach, but it's my first '70 so I am excited. Good luck with your pick up on Monday! |
