I am working a way to keep the original tittle.
I still have the original title for our '65 GTO. It was my dad's originally; we applied for a "lost title" back in the mid 80's and use that replacement title for all legal transactions. The original is for display only.

Re: Any original owners around?

Well I have a pretty cool story for you guys.

There was this guy who was a butcher and bought this 1969 Chevy C/10 new. So the guy has it for awhile and one day he goes into the store at a gas station and leaves the truck idiling outside...dumb move. The truck is stolen and the guy doesn't get it back. At the time my dads uncle worked for Farmers insurance and says to my Grandpa that they had a claim and that there was a 69' chevy at a junkyard down in Tucson. So him and my Grandpa drive down there to go check it out. They get there and the guy at the yard says yea we have it...but its all beat up and missing stuff. My Grandpa went and looked at it anyways and all it was missing was the battery. The guy at the yard obviously didn't want to give it up. So he put in a battery and drove it home and he's had it ever since. All that he has really done to it is paint it white and rebuild the motor....other than that it is all stock, he still has the stock hubcaps in the attic. So I guess he is technically a 2nd owner but I think its still a pretty cool story!

Not the original owner, but it has never lived more than 100 yards from my house! Niebour bought it in 69, Dad bought it in 71, it's been mine since 75.
